2001 xjs fuel system

Does anyone know if both of the 2 fuel pumps on a 2001 XJS FUEL SYSTEM run all the time or does it run on #1 until more fuel is needed and then turn on pump #2?

I did not know that Jaguar made an XJS in 2001.
