I've just noticed, what I think is missing on my: Type 35 bell housing inspection cover, it's missing? Idiot mechanics, miss these things! maybe, I'm I right?

This opening?

Should this be open? I'm sure a mesh type cover was in place at one time!

There are no holes in the picture. He must have had the screen that was squeezed and slipped into position. Have seen a lot of these gone. The later XJs had plastic and they were either misplaced or broken. You can drill and tap the housing and add a screen like Nobby65.

It's cast iron too, it drills and taps nice.

Just had have look in the shed at my spare one and that's
Aluminum as well


Say something about this photo
I wouldn't drill yours try and get a later push in grill

I'm just going by the picture from the OP, it looks like it's cast iron.
I thought it was odd that it would be.
