Temps were 52 degrees F. Had the top down last night. Wasn't bad, a little cool on the neck. The wind deflector is the obvious answer.

Not sure what color to get.
Black will go with some of the trim and I consider somewhat neutral.
I'm concerned that the "tan" won't be a actual match.

What do you think?

I bought a black one. My XK8 has the color british racing green with green interior trim. I found the black best looking. But I've been thinking for a long time. Not easy.

 

I ended up ordering the Adamesh Beige with black mesh. From the photos I managed to see online, it appeared to be a good match.
The price was much better than expected at 154 USD plus 80 S&H.
Looking forward to freezing my butt off.... or maybe not.

That's what I bought in black.
For the installation, I have expanded the back of the rear seat. Was not easy to install. If I lower the upper part, it does not quite fit. But I can live with that.
Send a picture if it is installed.

 

Can you describe expanded the back of the rear seat? I have no idea what that means.

You have to remove the rear seat. There must be 4 brackets installed, that only works when the backrest is out. I'll take photos of mine on Monday and send it to you.

 

Nothing I've read tells me I have to remove the back seat. The brackets install at the seatbelt clip.
I'm not sure why I'd have to remove the backseat.

Please take some photos. I need to clarify this.

I read the Amadesh instructions. I see what you're referring to.
There are 2 different deflectors from Amadesh. The one I purchased seems to require that I install 2 small mounting brackets between the rear seat and side trim along with 2 plastic gromits fitted in the leather trim.
I hope this isn't too complicated. Don't have the patience or desire to remove the rear seats.

I have written a small installation manual. I hope it is understandable.
It will not work without removing the back seat. As I said it is not very simple but not so complicated. I took about 2 hours. But the comfort of driving is great.

 

I installed as per instructions and your illustration as well.

I do NOT feel that this on secure enough. I have a concern that a rear wind will dislodge the deflector.
I would feel better if the front brackets were able to go in further.
The rear of the deflector is as far back as it car go.
I'd feel better if something "clicked" in somewhere.
I feel like it's just dangling.

Looks good for me. I have measured the distance.
Approx one centimeter on both sides. The wind deflector is fixed.
I went on the highway around 180 km / hour without problems.

 

UPDATE:

Spoke to Amadesh this morning.
First and foremost, customer service was terrific.

The gentleman I spoke with told me that some of the units had shorter pins (inserted into the grommets). As a result, the wind deflector barely secured itself.
He's promptly shipping me longer replacement pins.

just some pictures of my windshield which has been customized by a german manufacturer (Jaguar | ZYMEXX - Fahrzeugtechnik), easy to install and to remove when necessary.





I wanted to have it in the exact same color: ivory but adamesh at that time didn't offer that and I like the little notch it has (well the sight backwards is a bit disturbed but still ok).

I would say it is pretty much the same as the adamesh one and it justs underlines nicely the cars curves

Yes I installed it on my own.
It is basically 2 screws for the mounts behind the back seat cover which hold the rear shield base and 2 holes in the side covers to hold the spine from the spring loaded mechanism which allows to quickly remove the whole thing.

There is just no way I can get that bracket to be as flush as yours..
My pins are just barely into the grommet. If I as much as tap the deflector, it pops off.

Amadesh sent me longer pins, but unfortunately they were the same size pins.

 

If I compare it with my pins, I have a distance of about 1 cm on both sides. My pins do not fit tightly to the bracket. Nevertheless, the wind deflector is firm and does not jump out of the bracket when I load it. Can the constructions be so different? It is questionable that it does not hold with the longer pins.
