Default Varex Mufflers and TP Intake anybody ?

Before I trade in my XFR, is there any interest in the Varex mufflers and/or the TP Performance Intake that I had fitted ? I was planning to put the stock stuff back on as it doesn't improve the trade value and its quick(ish) to do....

Both items are only a few months old. My loss your gain - make me an offer. The mufflers have the required stainless pipes to mate up with the XFR pipes which my shop had to fabricate and the dual controller with two remotes and a bunch of spare stuff.

PM me.

Hi, I am new to the forums. I haven't actually even taken deliveryou of my car yet!

Purchasing an XFR 2011 so I can assume these parts will work on my car. I am however located in Australia. A few questions:

First off, would you be willing to send to Australia and get a quote to Port Macquarie, post code 2444?

Secondly, how much are you after for the mufflers and intake? The Varex is actually an Australian company and they can be very cheap here when they have sales.

Thirdly, I have no idea about the intake or which part it replaces. Is it easy to swap over? Are there any performance gAinsworth? If so, how much?

And finally, do you have any videos of the exhaust when open and closed? I was going to purchase a Spires exhaust but if this sounds anywhere close, the ability to open and close the baffles would be a huge bonus!

Kindly await your response,
Kent

P.S. Not sure how this forum works, PMs or if you'll get this or not, but to be safe, can you hit reply and also copy response and email to kent.c.au@gmail.com

Cheers!

I wouldn't think it worthwhile to package and ship these back to the land they came from. The cost here was $700US for the mufflers, then $65US for the dual control box and about another $100US for the fabrication of the XFR fitment.

Here's a video I made of the sound change from one of the mufflers - the ability to switch them on or off and the relative absence of drone inside even when wide open was what sold me on the solution. I'll be trading the car in about a week or so, I was trying to gauge if there was any interest to make it worth my while bothering to swap the stock stuff back. If not, I'll just let the new owner get a real nice surprise when they discover button B.

Mate, I have a used TCP XFR intake for sale, and I'm in Adelaide SA.
You can have it for $200 AU plus postage cost ($50???), it cost me over $600 new including postage from the US.
It's not hard to fit, just a bit fiddly and time consuming to line up all the pieces just right.

For those asking I have about $850 spent on the exhaust parts and I think the TP intake was around $250. If nobody makes me an offer to make it worth taking off the car, then I'll leave them as a surprise for the trade in owner....

Any gains from the Y - PIPE at all? Any increase is blower sound? And check engine lights ever? Im thinking of adding the same type of Y Pipe and a pair of BMC filters along wit ha VAREX muffler but I don't kin ow any feedback on either of these yet.

Can people chime in as well or direct me to a master thread if it exists?

As I'm going to pay my shop to do the swap out, probably $500 for the exhaust (and I'll throw in the fuse tap!) and $600 for the intake and exhaust together, with shipping at cost to where you want it and how fast. And the exhaust for sure is still shiny as it's only eight months old and probably 2000 miles on it.

My heart signed paperwork on a 2016 F coupe while my head was looking the other way ;-)

I can't say whether the intake improved the gains as I never got round to getting it dyno'd afterward. I may be able to before the bits come off. No check engine lights. And yes, you can hear the blower a little more sometimes but that may also be the smaller pulley, which won't be coming off ;-)

If you can hold on to these parts until first week of January, I will take the exhaust and intake for $600. Let me know. I can send you a small downpayment. PM me if you think it's something you can do. I am purchasing a 2013 Xf last week of December. Getting a tune and lower pulley soon after purchase and would love to have this system installed before the tune and pulley go in.

The TCP intake will not fit a 2013 XF if I recall correctly. The MAS boxes and intake inlet are bigger.

The MAS outlets are 3.25" and the TB inlet is 3.75" on the 2013. If I recall correctly, the earlier XFS are 3" and 3.5" respectfully.

Yeah...But he is holding the exhaust for me until Jan. The least I can do is take the whole thing for his trouble. If you are correct (and I have no reason to doubt that) I can always repost the intake on here, or maybe it can modded to fit..... who knows. I am just happy to get that exhaust at a good price.

Yes, you should have no issues selling it later for what you have in it.

I would have bought it from you if I still had my 10.

Have fun with your new ride, it is so much more car than the N/A V8.
