Default clear plastic wind deflector

Has anyone got one of these https://www.amazon.com/Jaguar-F-Type.../dp/B01GSHGP3E ? looks cheap enough just wondering if the quality is ok? also wondering why Jag never used glass/plastic for the deflector? is there some issue with pressure sucking it out at high speed maybe?

I bought one of these on eBay, for a little bit less money. At low speeds it's great. Full visibility out of the back. At higher speeds it stays in place perfectly fine, but it creeks and clicks in the wind. I'm also not entirely sure whether it deflects a ton of wind at high speeds (70/80mph) as I have a lot of wind in my cabin while using this deflector. It scratches fairly easily when trying to clean it (it gets dirty kinda quick). Otherwise, I like it.

yeah the creaks and clicks lead me to think that it might be a lot of pressure, thanks for the feedback

FWIW; I bought one and installed it today. It is a little bendy at higher speed, but I can't hear any creaking/clicking or other noise from it... of course the exhaust note is pretty much all I hear :-)
So much more rear visibility compared to mesh.

I hate this place. Another $100 gone.

Wind Restrictor is the best, had on Merc and have on Jag. You get what you pay for, a number of us bought them when they came out last year.

could you take a photo of it installed if you get time? would love to take a look.
do you notice any better than the standard mesh? in terms of wind reduction
Thanks

Are you talking about the ones that light up with the leaper? About $500?

I'll try and remember to take a photo when I get home. Mine was about $100 on ebay. Cut great, but it kinda shakes and rattles at high speeds. I ended up putting the mesh one back in. For really long night drives when I have the top up, I tend to take the mesh down to improve visibility since it's so easy to take out. The clear one would be worth it if you are not driving on the highway too much with the top down IMO.

It is same thickness as mesh frame. Thicker would be harder to fit in the guide holders. Not really sure if much quieter than mesh but definitely better visibility.

Installed mine today. It actually locked in a little tighter than stock. So nice to look in the mirror and see what's behind the vehicle. Ironically, I thought "that would look better tinted". DOH!!

Let us know how you get on with it, if you get any of the creaking noise at speed etc. My vert arrives end of March and might have to get one!

I have had the clear one ever since I didn't see a police car coming up behind me last October. The view is well worth the decreased integrity compared to the OEM mesh panel. I clean it with Plexus plastic cleaner, try very hard not to touch it and it is as clear as the day I bought it. Looks great

after using mine for a few weeks I'm considering getting a custom cut piece of tempered glass - the wiggly nature of the plexiglass (at the thickness that fits in the holder things) can be distracting when the light hits it... sometimes feels like something crazy is going on behind me.

The tinting comment actually triggered the thought (thanks DirtyAir!)

Anyone know of a good reason why it would be a very bad idea?

So having had it a few weeks I know now what the rattle noise is at speed and its annoying, the plastic is basically flapping as it flexes in the high speed wind and slapping the grove that the original deflector sits in, so I've made a slight mod, took a strip of window squeege rubber and jammed it two sheets thick under the screen, now its solid as a rock

Finally got my real tempered glass. Way better than plexiglass. No flex. I had the plexiglass from eBay and it was distracting. Took it to a glass shop and had them make same shape in tempered glass. $118.
