Ok, so what is the average age of the Jaguar owner?
Thanks. I am somewhat the same on not having the newest thing. It took me a while to warm to the new model range, in fact I hated the XF at first mainly because of two specific things, one: I never buy a new car, I always buy pre-owned select Jaguars with warranties (let someone else deal with the new car glitches and take the initial depreciation hit) but more for the second reason. I had my S-type in for service when the XF first launched, and the salesman pushed and pushed me to test a new XF while I waited. I wasn't interested and he finally tried a different route. He said "seriously, you should drive one. You realize the S-type isn't even a real Jaguar, it's dated and mostly ford!". I was so mad!
Couple years later I was there to look at an X-type estate I wanted but in person it was in sketchy shape so since they fired the salesman, I gave an XF a test drive and it was amazing. It truely felt like a jaguar behind the wheel and when I realized the back seat folded down, SOLD!
That being said, personally I think the new 2016 models are getting too safe and watered down. When I finally have to trade my XF, I'm lookimg for a used Maserati Quatroporte. I'll keep my 02 XK8.

Really, the Porsche Panamera is ugly on the outside, decent inside but really a solid car. It sucks the style is so bad because the car is quite good.
I really like the newer S-Classes; but I like the 3 big German super sedans (S-Class/7-Series/A8) and the current S8 is absolutely mind boggling to drive at speed, even compared to the S65 I drove. However, it depends on if you like the big German sedans, they have quite a different character than a big or midsize Jag.
I'm 49, but been driving them since getting my first S-Type in 1986. Still have a Mk2 and 420 that have been in the family "forever". My dad got me into the Jaguars from a very young age,, himself a Jaguar driver since the mid 1950's (was asked by Sir William to race their lightweight E-Type at one time!).
...I'm attracted to beautiful European modern classics. Like Heidi Klum. The kinds of cars that wear dapper smoking jackets, have a single malt scotch in one hand, and an AR-15 in the other.
-Cabel (52, but don't feel like it or act like it)
I am 73 still ridding a Harley and driving a 2011 XK Coupe. It just does not get much better than this. "Harley-Davidson msking Boys out of Men since 1903." "Jaguar making Gentlemen with superior motorcars. "
35 - But I have always been an old git: I drink ale, had a beard before they were in fashion and never wear Denim, so I had my mid-crisis early

55... but love riding my Kawasaki rocket ship (0-60 in 2.5s) and rocking out to POD, Dirty Heads, Islander, NF, Chevelle and other awesome current artists (as well as Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and others from back in the day)...
Similar here at 29. Corvette at 18, XKR at 23. I've been yelling at kids to get off my lawn my whole life. It's why I bought such a nice hose and nozzle.
I'm 37 and been a Jag fan since 6 years ago when I watched an episode of Top Gear, where they compare the XKR, Bmw 6series and Chrysler 300 ....I researched after I watched that episode....beautiful and timeless lines...and last year at 37 i got a 2005 XK8, not an XKR :-( but it'll do for now....my next Jag would the 2010 XK or XKR hopefully in 3 years
My first post on the X100 site ... So, joined the Forum yesterday having just turned 69 ...
Enthusiasm for modding / 'spannering' still as great as ever.. just takes a little longer than 30 years ago!! Looking forward to some UK track days as soon as the Badcat is re-commissioned after last years engine detonation .

Age is not just a number, its an attitude. If you buy into the number, than that's how you're going to act and feel. I'm closing in on 76, drive a 2000 XK8 that's mostly reliable, sail a 34-foot sailboat, and play keyboards in a working classic rock band. Have both a hip and shoulder replacement on my left side and finishing up cataract surgery. Do I have aches and pains; absolutely! Do I give a sh-t; not so much. It's not the years in your life, it's the life in your years.
Rock on!

Which part of Cali are you from? by far you're the youngest one i know that likes Jags, the rest 20 year olds i know are mostly into WRX's...so good job buddy you found a gem!!
Haha I'm from oakland ca, but reside in the valley. I was going to buy a Corvette but then saw the xkr. Was pretty obvious to me to go with the jag. You can always find a good vette, an xkr is more of a rarity.
So my first go fast ride was a 68 vet convert in 78, my 97 with the top down is just about the same ride but with an automatic and a bunch less rattles that I care about at 56. At 17 all I could think about was chicks, loud music and almost being drinking age, and did I already say chicks....not sure how any of us graduated from high school...The 4 speed manual shift with a competition clutch, large 4 barrel carb on a 327 that would smoke the tires until you let off was a scream....I guess at my current age I don't need as much smoke as I did then, the chicks are not near as fast. Still like fast motorcycles and the speed of a 1000 cc motor generates, sorry but makes the xk8 seem slow. XK8 is a great cruiser with the top down, and a chick magnet no matter how old you are.
My age 70 . . . so, spread across my current 5 personal Jaguars, that makes for an average age of 14 . . . which is still a bit too young to be left in control of such outstanding high performance vehicles. I love them anyway!
Is that how AVERAGE age works?
Cheers,

Ken

. Certainly one of the youngest.
