Ok, so what is the average age of the Jaguar owner?
I'm 31 and my wife is 27. We bought our first 04 XJ8 just over two years ago. I can still remember the look my coworkers gave me at the job I had at the time, wondering how we could afford it. What they didn't know is how hard depreciation hits these cars haha. Ofcourse I did quit that job for a better paying one a few months later, so they probably thought we couldn't afford it after all.
We bought our second Jaguar (06 XK8) this year. They are the only vehicles we own and both are daily drivers. Being in Idaho these cars are certainly a rarity (the XJ came straight from AZ while the XK came from CA).
My wife has always joked about me being an 80 year old man inside with my tastes (and grumpiness probably). She wants me in suspenders and a cap up top when I drive, but I tell her she has to wait for me to actually hit the age for that.

Lol no I meant same in age. I can't find anyone in our age group that has one
I'm still bemused by this theme that Jaguars are "an old man's car" - really, an XK8 or XKR? - but perhaps this is a US thing. Here in Australia, Jaguars tend to be very well maintained, and remain relatively expensive. My teenage grandson reckons they are "very cool" and he is saving hard!
When I posted (at #78) that I'm 70 with 5 Jaguars, I neglected to add that my 1st (in my avatar) came nearly 50 years ago when we were 22yo newlyweds . . . and some 40+ Jaguars later, have never been without at least one "character builder". The really good news is that it must be hereditary as all 3 of my adult children are enthusiasts also.
Cheers,

Ken

I don't remember if I posted, so Ill post again. I am 39 and have been a gear head since I was 13. I have wanted a XKR since I saw my first one in 06 or 07. Getting older my memory starts to slip to much.... I finally got the extra cash and got it!!! I should have listened to the people on here about spending a little more for a nicer kept one. But I need a driver quality car so that's what I got. Now I am finding it needs almost every thing rebuilt. Biut when its done itll be done and I will be able to say I did it!
I am 73 own a 2011 XK Coupe and a 2014 Softail Slim Harley-Davidson. Age is only a number as long as one is healthy. I am blessed and this XK is the love of my life other than my wife of 46 years.
I was 48 when I bought my XK8 convertible. Actually my wife bought it for me for Valentines's Day! Heads still turn especially when the top is down. It's such a distinctive design and I'm sad that the newer Jaguar models (except the F-TYPE) look the same as every other modern car. I must say, however, that with an hour commute to work every day, instead of being stressed with the traffic, I'm relaxed and enjoying my daily driving experience, with my top down, air cranked and radio blaring. I love this car and, yes, it makes me feel young. No one has ever told me that it is and old man's car. Quite the opposite, actually. Just my two cents.
This is my second Jaguar, the first was an Anthracite (If im not mistaken) XJ8 X350 and the second, and present, is a Platinum Silver Vanden Plas, also X350. There is just something alluring about the big cat that I love when parked, and then there's the drive. Most comfortable car I've driven consistently, and appointed to the nines, which for me, is a major selling point. I couldn't imagine driving anything else. On the hunt for a nice example of an X100 XK8/R coupe in BRG. I'm 32.
