Default parting XJR100 and rebuilding my BRG XJR

first of all, I am sorry that I have not been able to respond to many of you guys inquires for the parts.

at this moment, I am parting my XJR100 and swapping most of the good and XJR100 unique parts to my original racing green XJR.

I will swap entire XJR100 interior and wheels/calipers.

for the rest of the car, many parts are available but I am running into a few problem.

the engine has only about 100K miles on the clock and that is the last year for the model

transmission was just rebuilt less than 2 thousand miles ago.

the shop wont let me keep 2 cars there for too long, but I really dont know where I can find a good junk yard for the XJR100. there are still many good parts even i would need. If any one the strip the car for me. I would rather do that.

for quick easy storage go to Public Storage and get/rent a 10x25 and roll ur car in there to strip it down...then tow it to junk and scrap what is left that is non useable...just my two cent...

Indeed, I'd be removing everything off the car even the stuff I didn't need and box it up.

Vinny, you're in NYC, chop-shop-central, for about 2-grand you should be able to get your XJR100 back on the road by next week. Seems sacrilegious to strip it down when it is rebuildable. I can refer a shop if you need it.

I need rear hub carriers.
What year is the xjr?

I need them for an 02 xj8.

Large silver cast piece that the wheel bearings press into?

Vinni, you'll need the hubs as they're matched to the Brembo brakes - remember I've a 100 and I've had it down into it's component parts. These matter. The faces are ground as are the back of the Brembo discs for a match, fit the discs to another car it'll vibrate.

I would seriously have a re-think.

The 100 is the only XJ out of a line going back to 1969 that is a genuine limited edition. The last time Jaguar did that (100 black cars) it was the V12 E Roadster and they are vastly more valuable than a standard V12 roadster because they are Jaguar Ltd Ed.

I would look at your options, at a front end rebuild using the green car as a donor - you need a shop with an orbital jig - there must be guys that can do this in there sleep between taxi front end rebuilds in that great city?!.
Or, one day you'll see an advert for this model and feel sick you parted it - FACT!

The part book do not show a Brembo/XJR 100 specific hub. only a before and after VIN 34014
Also Jaguar technical Bulletin 206-11,dated 02/2005, deal with "vibrations with braking-Brembo brakes" and only suggest to optimize lateral run out by trying the disc on the 5 possible positions on the hub and select the one with the less run out.
If both the hub and disk were matched, that would not have been necessary nor such a common issue
I spent a lot of time on this issue during the upgrade of my XJR to brembo and the "real" issue is due to the diameter of the hub ( the face) being too small for the bigger rotors/calipers
Jaguar was going to release a bigger hub to solve this issue once and for all but obviously that never happened

Hold up... Can you explain this again?
I thought upgrading to Brembos was pretty straight forward and the only mods were to tap the brackets to take the different caliper bolts?
Or is this something specific to the 100's? Pretty sure my Brembo calipers are from an XKR, but it's all pretty much Lego

As much that I respect Sean knowledge, on this one I say BS.
truing/machining the face of the hub and the back of the rotor to eliminate lateral run out will only have a possible positive result if that was done as a set, meaning the hub is mounted to a spindle, then the rotor/disc on it, lateral run out is calculated and the machinist "estimate were to remove material from the hub or disc
Beside the fact that jaguar do not sell a hub and disc "package", just making sure than both the face of the hub and back of the rotor are 100% flat and parallel to each other is not a 100% sure solution since lateral run out can also be due to either the braking surface of the rotor not being 100% parallel on its full circumference to the back of the rotor or, the face of the hub not being at a perfect 90* on the full circumference, to an imaginary line going through the bearings cavity
Obviously we are not even addressing shaking due to uneven pad deposit on discs

I could be mistaken with the Alcon setup as it's been 8 or so years since I researched and updated my brakes. But for some reason I felt the Brembo's where matched. A sort after kit, but more valuable on the car, my main point really...

Thanks Sean.. I'm in the same boat as OP and thought I had a plan..
Was going to part one of the 100's I have and swap everything to the 98.
But would paint Anthracite. The car does have 195k on the clock, but was a CA car. It's clean for the miles and would make a decent driver..

What's the issue with the 100 you're considering parting? Swapping from 26 to 27 is a big job.

Heavy front end damage. roof dimples, door gaps no longer strait.
I was thinking (to the 98) swap full interior, wheels and brakes and paint it.
But I do have a 02 XJ sport that I could get the whole nose from.
