One and only 5x108 set until production (end of March - early April)

How have you obtained wheels pre-production? Did you offer your car as a mule for prototyping?

I've worked closely with Ferrada for about 3 years now. I am an authorized distributor. My Jag will be at SEMA this year and we had a set made for promotion and advertisements pre-production

Why did you stay with 295 width with 11.5 inch wheels in rear?

 

How much will these be when they go into production.

Because with the 305's would have rubbed since I am lowered on H&R Springs.

 

 

 

I assume that it's the lighting that makes the doors and rear quarters appear different colors - wrap is the same, yes? In all pix that show the doors and rear qtrs, they appear different.

Where are these wheels made? And I assume they are cast, is that right? Would you happen to know the weight of each wheel?

The color of the wrap is actually a Color Flow some what like a chameleon color, as you walk around the car the color changes with your line of sight

We weighed my 20x9, IIRC it was like sub 20-21lbs or something.

What makes our Forge-8 line so special is the way the wheels are made, only possible through a manufacturing technique that’s wholly exclusive to Ferrada Wheels. Part of this unique process involves employing 8 hydraulic rollers to apply pressure on a heated barrel spinning at high speed. The extreme forces acting on the barrel collapses air pockets within the aluminum, reducing barrel thickness by 15% of the industry standard while increasing strength and durability. Another important consequence of this procedure is the lower rotational weight of Forge-8 wheels, resulting in unprecedented levels of road performance unachievable by other manufacturing techniques.
To complete this tedious forging process, the heated barrel is then quenched in the cooling tank. This last step is crucial in locking in the desired qualities that make the Forge-8 line the most technologically advanced luxury wheels available.

 

i wouldn't call their manufacturing process unique. what you're describing is what has been coined "rotary" or "flow" forged. plenty of manufacturers employ this now. it's a deceptive marketing term as they're not forged at all. not to say it's a bad process, when done correctly you can have a lighter wheel that is still very strong.

I have the FR8 also ordered in 9x20 and 11.5x20. These are then painted black matt.
As a tire I chose 245/30 and 305/25 in combination with Piecha thread springs 15-30mm.
So I should be able to screw the tires rear the car back up. I am looking forward to the conversion ...

 

Thats awesome! Yes, Germany and some locations in Asia received the 5x108 pattern just recently I am excited to see the final product!

I believe you're asking if you will be able to fit the 305's on the rear with the lowering springs?

 

Sorry, that should not be a question, but a statement that I think with the screwable springs I can prevent the grind. If the car is too deep, I could screw it back up again.
