That's not a '68, wrong headlights and dash. I owned a '68 roadster and it had a black dash with rocker switches (not toggles), and it was the first with raised, not covered, headlights. Given it has '62 plates I'm guessing it is a '62, it looks more like my '64 inside. They screwed up the XK8 trunk because someone in the decision tree felt it had to hold two sets of golf clubs. Something they undid with the F-Type which pretty much will hold one set of tennis rackets and that's it...

I'll leave it to those better informed than I to figure out the correct model year of the XKE. Bear in mind that it has been "restored", so it's possible that some parts are anachronistic.

Rob, you are correct, sorry I took a quick look and thought I saw open headlights with the early style tail lights which were 68 only.

The pics are washed out a bit due to clouds and my crappy cell phone camera. It is actually Slate.

Crazy. It looks so much different from mine (above), also on a cloudy day with my iPhone.

The day I brought her home! Made it Home fine, then first week everything went wrong! Hydraulic roof lines, coolant system, window motor failed, saw tons of paint damage not noticable with rain. Almost sold her! Never buy emotionally, especially in the rain!!!!

After sorting the issues (still many to deal with) had body kit put on and some paint repair but not satisfactory. Decided to repaint whole car. Even painted wheels black for a total black look.

Finally finished! New black walnut metallic paint, wheels, lots of details, mechanically in great shape, and interior totally new, with two tone black and cream with Louis Vuitton inserts and details.
