Default Spring trip to Nurburgring starts today.

We will be some +/- 15 cars leaving Norway on the ferry to Kiel later today (mine is the only F-type, but there will be many other nice sportscars there as well - and I will not be the fastest one ).

First stop will be Stuttgart were we will stay for two nights. We have booked a guided tour at the AMG factory on Friday, which I am looking forward to - even if it's "just" the Merc...

Next stop is hotel Dorint at Nurburgring for one night were we will meet up with other friends that are allready there. They have travelled down by air and shipped the cars by trailers, as their main goal is driving "the Nordsleife" (ours is the road trip it self).

Then it's return north via one night in Hamburg before the return ferry from Kiel to Norway.

We did a rather similar roadtrip last year, and hopefully the weather will be better and we will find some more "open roads with less trafic" than last year. The Gopro is allready in place in the car.

Here is some fotage from last year (which some may have seen earlier):

Awesome, enjoy! I think 260 kph means a pretty open road!

I managed to crack a (GPS-verified) 165mph/265kph on my last trip to Germany, don't think I've ever smiled so much, although it took a while for my finger imprints to bounce back out of the steering wheel afterwards, I was gripping it so hard!

Good luck, have fun and be safe!

I've done 3 trips there - twice with the BMW school, once renting an Opel Calibre - total of 8 days on the track. Those are some of my fondest track memories. I wish I were there with y'all. Be safe! BTW - what tires are you running and what pressures do you use?

I did not take the Jaguar on the track - just a rental. Can't afford to wreck the Jag there I have previously more than 350 laps there, most on bikes.
I am still on the OEM P Zeros, but will swap to Michelins soon (4S). On the autobahn I use 40 psi (did a lot of 250-280 kph runs, and we drove a total of 1.800 km). On the track I would probably reduce that to ~ 32-34 psi.

What did your rent for your track time? Hopefully not a Citroen 2CV.

Is that a Wiesmann next to you on the ferry? I've always loved those...quirky, but cool...

Oh, good call. I was thinking Morgan, but that didn't seem right. They are indeed quirky but cool.
