Hi,
Has anyone deleted the resonator and installed X-Pipe or straight through pipes on a base 340 V6 with standard sports exhaust? I am thinking of a remap and exhaust mod to give me a bit more grunt. Viezu reckon they can remap me to 420bhp and the exhaust x-pipe mod usually adds a bit more on cars.
I'd be interested in a sound bite if anyone has done the exhaust mod.

Sounds like you haven't done much research regarding this topic and I would urge you to do so.

Just a quick look into Viezu and I've found a few red flags:

• Their home page claims 100 bhp/158 nm increase on the F type, but no package you can actually purchase to get that gain.
• They claim an 80hp/120nm increase on 340bhp model, but the dyno graph only shows 34whp/4wnm gain. And then they go use this same graph on the 380hp model.
• They only claim to go from 488 hp/625nm to 538hp/705nm on the V8S model when the base R is at 550hp/680nm. Then magically they find another 50hp/80nm on the R variant even though they are identical engines? If they can't even tune to stock R levels from the V8S, I am sceptical to think they could deliver these gains on an R, especially when they have no proof.

I just get the feeling this company has little experience with the F type. Check out VelocitAP. They're the go to for tuning support on this site. Not a bad review about them out there.

 

To be fair to them they do state that the dyno is comparing a 380 and that the 340 is an identical engine so the gains are a simple case of maths. VelocityAP state the same gains from the V6. The smaller jaguar forum in the U.K. Have good reports from Viezu and if you look carefully you will find exhaust and pully upgrades that as menu items would add up to the gains mentioned.
As for the V8 red flags I'll revert to your better knowledge on these matters.
You are correct that I have not done a huge amount of research and the benefits of such forums is always a useful place to start before iarriving at a decision on whether to invest or not.

Also, I would think about installing a sport rear silencer, versus a resonator delete, just because we find the V6 to be more drony than the V8.

Jeez! Your concept of central is worrying! Banbury to Brighton (South Coast) 130 miles. Banbury to Inverness (not even close to North coast) 494 miles!

 

Depends what central we're talking about. Central of England = yes. Central of the UK = no. However, more importantly, central of population = absolutely! According to the interwebs; Banbury is 45 miles south of the center of UK population (based on a 2001 study) in Appleby Parva.

 

I said central for MOST people. I lived in the UK for nearly 7 years. MOST of the population in the UK lives in England (from memory it's over 80%?) so Banbury is pretty much bang in the middle of England.

And I would wager a guess that probably 3/4 of the population in England lives South of the Watford Gap?

I wouldnt bother with viezu, customer service is good but product is crap.....i know.
They could only get 574bhp out of my R and that was with a custom map and pulley, same as gad tuning but velocity got me 600 and then with fitting there cats another 20
