Car Gurus has a Anthracite/Ivory 2006 Jaguar XKR Coupe for $25,890.00 with 52,800 Miles....The best deal I've seen in a while....It has smoked Tail Lights like a Victory Edition.

Wish I had it! (Anthracite is a Black/Copper mixture)

I do love the coupe victory edition you guys keep posting, but the carguru site shows it as having frame damage...I wish I wish.

Call them and find out what was done. It might not have been serious, or it might have been properly repaired. If theres any question then I understand, but not to explore the option....

hmmm, so tempting. I just told someone I wanted an Aston in 5 years...maybe I can be convinced to sell my coupe.

it has 94,000 miles, and tons of dealer work done. Just put on ceramic tint a few days ago. Really babied by the prior owner, a French Dr. absolutely loved by me, and it has always been a Southern Ca. car...

Details in my signature...
Message me if you would like to discuss.

Try AutoTempest (AutoTempest.com: The Best Used Car Search.), it will search multiple craigslist locations as well as ebay and other car search sites. it is great for doing a wide scan for a particular car. I searched a while for mine. Good Luck!

06db9ky, the car you are searching for/describing is exactly my car; 02' XKR Coupe, Anthracite Black, Brembo brakes, 20" Detroit BBS Wheels, 53K Miles (85K km), all service history dating back to 05, with all common updates completed (throttle body, timing tensioners etc..) Unfortunately I do not have any desire to sell the car.

Goodluck in your search! If I come across something similar I will let you know.

Attached are a few pics of mine.

I think you are right to ignore the advice that you should only consider 2003 onwards with the 4.2 engine and ZF 6 speed gearbox. The 4.0 XKR has the five speed Mercedes gearbox, which is every bit as reliable as the 6 speed ZF.

Once you have updated the timing gear to the latest version, your 17 year old XKR will have exactly the same ageing bits as a 14 year old model, but with more money left over to replace them.

I do have a 2001 XKR Silverstone coupe (1 of 25 states side) with just over 8k miles.

I have never thought of selling it.

Good luck with the search!

06db9ky,
Here's is a Green 2005 Coupe in California: British Car Sales, Service, Parts, Repair & Restoration in San Luis Obispo | British Sports Cars
Now this is cheap enough, pretty enough & the mileage is not so bad!

Default What Price?

You said cheap enough Billy but when I looked the XKR was about the only listing without a price posted. I sent an email to the seller asking the price.

Granville, I wasn't aware that I was looking for a coupe for you! I was concentrating on 06db9ky, who started this Thread and is looking for a Coupe.....I believe you already have one. So as I said, it's cheap enough! If you want another one, good luck to ya!

Point taken Billy. I am keeping an eye out for a coupe for someone else, also in California. I thought it rather a long way off for someone in the East but won't jump quickly to mention it to my friend to give a fair chance to the main target of your post.

Granville, Sorry, you kind'a PO'ed me until you wrote back! So, here's the eBay address: 2005 Jaguar XKR Coupe | eBay
I believe it's about $10,199.99 and the bidding ends on Thursday @11:45...Check it out! Seems to be the Car you were looking for (BRG)!
Looks like a pretty good Jag and the sellers are Jag people....probably a good deal over all!

Thanks Billy! Thanks for the eBay link; I'll pass it along to my friend. I certainly don't want to get crossways of you. I'm pretty happy with my coupe in black. Yes, I'd have preferred to find one in BRG but am happy anyway. This one appears to be Jaguar Racing Green (metallic), like a really nice XKR also in So Cal, on which I passed for that reason. It was the same year even but had BBS wheels.

Here is a nice 2000 XKR coupe in black. A bit pricey but appears to be well sorted.

Looking at his list of repairs, updates, and upgrades, I hardly think he has spent $40k on them....

This car does show well.

My car is a 2000 XKR Convertible, and I've done more work than he has mechanically; but have not chromed my wheels (completely redid, but stock), have not done seat covers, but have factory everything cosmetically to a T (including windshield and full paint job in last year), and have completely redone my front suspension and 4 new tires in the last 2k miles. I have 102k and would be happy as a clam for literally half the price he is asking.

I can't see him spending over 15k even if he paid a dealership to do all the things he listed. If DIY, substantially less than that.

I don't know if the guy spent part of the 46K on buying the car, then buying all Jaguar branded parts and then paying top dollar for all the work, I can maybe see it.... But it would still be such a stretch to say that.

As someone who has receipts from a Jag Dealer for all the work I had done (and it was extensive,) and the third party shop, and the cosmetics, in an expensive labor market, he should still be well short of 46k. I'm well over $20k in receipts not including car.

Simple enough for buyer to ask for receipts. Honestly, it doesn't sound like a lot of mechanical work. Most of my money went to leak repairs which are labor intensive) and I don't see any hoses listed.
