Yeah, but I bet an oil change on those Italians doesn't require a coolant pipe sacrifice...

The DB5's fender line is effectively a square sans the slight curvature in the front, contradicted by the inverse in the back.
Simple wire wheels, not deep dish, truck like front bumper, nipples for indicators. And there isnt anything particularly elegant about the front intake. Overall it has no proportion and flow.

Just saying.
I wonder why I may fancy the DB5 better? Is it because there is one behind my monitor every day (work from home)?

Lot of new research has shown how much in life is all about association and conditioning.

Its all a mater of what we find appealing as result of a feeding an established appetite or in the rare instance discovering new foods.

Here is eyeopening proof. They show a painting of a horse to a North African tribesman who has never seen illustrations or books before. He cant make out what it is. He owns a horse.

Show a rock to a North African tribesman who has never seen a rock before, he won't be able to illustrate it.

No, actually, I got the point well before your (not very good) analogy.
I know you're capable of much better.

Not my analogy- actual test conducted by scientists (non rock smokers)
Fascinating stuff. Took me a long time to get my arms around it.

I don't doubt any results from any test. It just didn't really fit the situation very well.

And OP is long gone after realizing he'll never be as overzealous a Jag fan as some of the folks on here lol.

In all seriousness, the XK is a great car which most of us obviously love, but it doesn't mean everything else out there sucks or that one would have to be a tasteless idiot to consider anything else.

I'd GLADLY trade my XKR for either an Aventador or a new Ford GT, as long as I get the pre-paid maintenance plan to go with it.

I did get a chuckle out of the Prius joke though. Felt it wasn't in the best of taste but still fit the description of what he was looking for.

I love it when Priuses (Prii?) get stuck behind me in traffic when I'm in my Land Cruiser...

I agree, almost all 928's were automatics as well. It is a fantastic car to have for the person who can afford more than one and hires someone to rotate them through mechanic's shops.

The interior is fantastic(If you're Italian sized), and the driving experience if its in shape is proper Grande Touring. A shame the car's were so expensive to run that generally they are just out rotting. Very few owners actually take care of them. It takes a brave sort of "The numbers do not matter me" to run 928's.

Or...he may realize all this back and forth is because we aren't spending our lives in a garage or waiting room trying to keep the car running.

Cee Jay,
Trade for a Ford GT, okay I understand, but that overwrought p.o.s. Aventador?! Seriously? It makes even that kit car looking Countach almost look good.

To make it super interesting for everyone.

Yes consumers/public dont realize how much science and manipulation has gone into creating their desires. Its mind-blowing. Its centuries worth of creating association that has been compounded.

You only get a clue when you show the thing you are attracted to someone who has never had any of those influences, and he cannot even recognize what it is.
(since you have shown interest; its not just a study- its taught in schools, posting link to textbook below)

There is a fourth dimension in design that consumers are even less aware of: Motion. Its like a closely guarded magician's illusion. In use since before Christ, Italians have a word for it: contrapposto. Rolls Royce uses it, Jaguar used it in the Kalminos wheels in a two-fold way. They used contrapposto depicting past and future motion, but they also used aviation association. It looks like a prop on an airplane. Because we associate airplanes with motion. Discussed on the next page of the textbook linked below.

Two Dimensional Illusiuons
