Now I'm no automotive expert, but I'm fairly sure that big wire-covered enginey thing in the top photo with those big round wheely things is supposed to be inside that large silver-grey thing in the bottom pic....

Indeed you are right. The big black part belongs in the big silver thing.

All started with a 'simple' tranny repair. Resultat in an engine out job.

Oh, and I'm writing this in a 3h jam. My daily commute takes 25 mins in the morning and 35 mins in the afternoon. Today it has taken 3 h for a 21 km drive.

Ouch. For both points - repairs and traffic.

That's one way of using the propensity of the V12 to catch fire!

I was thinking they should have just put a tray over an actual V12 XJS engine and used the massive amounts of heat it generates to cook with....
Also, I wonder how hard it would be to rehinge your bonnet so it opened like that...?

Tell us more!

I'm thinking of asking my Jag shop to send everything off to be chromed when they redo all the gaskets and tear down the engine, is zinc coating better? cheaper?

Now that is a nice polish. And a nice pic. Love the yellow sun on the red paint, contrasting with the blue-grey roads. Great dynamic composition, too.

Put mine up for sale so I can buy another xjs to turn into a track car.
