Default activated carbon/charcoal cabin air filter?

Hello, can you recommend a good activated carbon/charcoal cabin air filter for the base f type coupe? I called my local service guy and he seemed fairly clueless. The following url has 4 options:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,3298467,parttype,6832

* Pentius
* Mahl
* ATP
* Wix

Do you know if any if these are better than the others or if they're all about the same?

Can you mention where you are so I can avoid going there and breathing whatever passes for air?

f typical - I drive my car to/from the gym several times/week and occasionally eat a burger/burrito/etc in my car. Looking to minimize these potential odors and other potential odors.

I think the conventional solution would be to avoid eating burgers in the car while you're driving.

That seems easier than finding a charcoal filter, steering wheel degreaser, purell and storage space for a lotta napkins.

Uh, the purpose of a "cabin air filter" is to clean the outside air before introducing it into the cabin, as opposed to removing whatever odors you bring in yourself.

I don't think what you're looking for exists for unless you can find a household air cleaner that plugs into your 12v port.

I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to eat in their brand new F type... A burger? A burrito? in an F-type? Really? Never mind the smell, wouldn't you get crumbs and grease everywhere? Is it really that much of a challenge to eat outside the car, especially messy foods like that?

I never eat in any or my cars and I would never allow a passenger to, either. I couldn't imagine eating in a car like this...

come on guys, it's *just* a car. I'm pretty protective of my car (where I park to avoid door dings, etc.). But eating/drinking in the car is no big deal! That's what a good detail job is for. Remember the saying, "not using your car is like not having sex with your GF to save her for the next guy."

I'm pretty talented when it comes to eating in my car. wendys jr bacon chzbrgr (no lettuce) is pretty manageable although a small crisp of bacon did fall to the side of my seat which I subsequently retrieved.

LOL @F-Typical. Pretty certain your comment had way too much altitude for the readers comprehension level.

Seriously, I would think a grip of these would do you just fine...

And if you tire of the royal pine freshener... You can upgrade to these stylish babes. Fits perfectly with so many of your other bad habits!

Close your eyes and count backwards from 10 to 1. If you do it just right, your chosen babe might just appear in the passenger seat with your favorite bacon Burger in hand...

OK so I'm not a fan of some of your questions, but you do have some pretty damn funny answers.

I never eat in mine. I may drink a bottle of water. I want that "new car" smell for as long as I can.

If you drive in a downtown area then you're going to have to deal with the smell of bus exhaust, homeless people/urine and greasy street food. These are just a few smells that come to mind. An activated carbon cabin air filter seems like a reasonable part of a cabin odor minimization strategy.

It's just in front of the firewall, on the passenger side.
Accessed through the engine bay and the plastic scuttle in front of the windscreen has to be removed to get to it.
I had it replaced as part of my 24 month service a few months ago, and the mechanic said it was a pig to get at (but it was his first ever F-Type air/pollen filter replacement).
Here's the text in the Workshop Manual:

"AIR FILTER
The air filter is a combination pollen and odor filter installed in a
housing attached to the engine bulkhead panel, on the passenger
side of the engine compartment. A cover in the top of the housing
provides access to the air filter."

And here's the diagram from the Workshop Manual (it's item #1):
