Had I known you were in need I could have been persuaded to part with the one from my wrecked 100. Although shipping can't be cheap..

Yeah it's the shipping that's killer.

Here in NZ there is a huge market for parts from Japan, and I know a guy who runs a business filling containers with parts and bringing them over, so I got a pretty good deal on the shipping side of things, compared to going by regular mail.

Started the task of cleaning the engine & bay, I say started because the 98 degree FH heat & 90% humidity forced me to abort lol. Maybe tonight will be another productive after midnight chore session !

Just found out, that my Scrapuar has the electrochromatic exterior mirrors and they work!

Probably because the old bugger doesn't want to be scrapped and he's now showing his best behaviour...

Ok ABS module soldered & remedied ! Upon disconnecting discovered a sensor attached to what looks like a refrigerant line had a puddle of green liquid in it, not sure if it is refrigerant w/ fluorescent dye or old green coolant. Kind of doubt it's old coolant as it was all flushed & filled with orange a couple weeks ago & surely this heat would've evaporated that by now. Below is pic, any input is appreciated.

Default Some maintenance and some performance work.

I have had my '02 XJR for several months now and it was time to take care of some maintenance items and I figured I might as well do some performance work as well. I ordered the 2.5lb. SC pulley from Power House. In preparation for that I have removed the supercharger and all of the other parts that are required to do so. I have disassembled the Eaton M112 also to inspect it. The rotors and inside of the housing was pretty filthy with oily residue and grime so I cleaned them up. I ordered some Motorcraft XL-4 supercharger oil to refill the M112 once I am done with the machining of the snout for the smaller pulley. I noticed some wear on one of the supercharger drive coupler pins that has been worn by the oem spring style coupler so I have ordered a nylon coupler to replace it. The old supercharger belt was in rough shape so I ordered a Continental Elite (Gatorgrip) replacement belt. The LH valve cover was leaking in the rear LH corner which I understand is a common failure point on that gasket. I replaced it and all of the other valve cover seals with a Felpro kit. I replaced the spark plugs while I was at it. My next items are to continue cleaning up some of the parts that I have removed in the process of removing the SC like the TB, intake elbow, EGR valve, etc. I also plan to replace the 2 failure prone coolant hoses that reside in the valley under the SC. I am anxious to get this thing back on the road at this point so that I can finally enjoy this car a bit. I am also anxious to see how much of a difference the new SC pulley will make. BTW, I cannot say enough about what a tremendous resource that this forum is for DIY guys like myself. A big thanks to those that share so much valuable information.

That is the air conditioning pressure switch, I had to replace mine. If you look on my "XJ Sport Renovation" Thread you will see how I did it. It is really easy and undoing it won't release any gas. The part is about £60 new, although I bought a used one from a scrapper for £5.

I've not driven my 308 for about 3 weeks I think, but I'm off this weekend and she's coming out to play. My friend has had to return his 2015 XF to the dealership twice in 2 weeks for warranty work, I might go and see him tonight and let him see what a proper Jaguar is like.

So far I have the shocks/struts & spring insulator rear uppers but I am having problems from the diagram knowing what else I need. I don't want to get the car dismantled then discover I am missing parts. I'm seeing some places that say the bellows & bump stop foam fit both front & rear ?! Like the ones below.

Both SB101 Suspension Strut Bellow Kit Front or Rear

So far I have what's below.

What more do I need, thanks.

The form pieces are totally different. They are larger in diameter. If you can wait about 10 hours I can get ypu the numbers after work

Are you using new shocks? If not, I'd replace the lower bearing in the shock (what makes the noises) and the lower mounting bolt and nut.

If those are your new REAR shocks, then they are wrong.

In your drawing, part no 8 is the bearing I am refering to. It is NOT a rubber bush, as the picture of your new shocks suggest but a proper sealed bearing. They are also required to guide the rear wishbones a little. More than a normal rubber bush would.

They're Sensen 1213-0274 ,the exact shocks I had installed on my previous X308. Had that done in the shop though, just not sure what additional rubbers & foam they had to add on .

I am not really sure if I understand the discussion going on.

The Sensen shocks come with new lower bearings (item 12, the spherical joint), all new isolators, washers and nuts.
I had them in my hands several weeks ago when a friend bought them.

What you MIGHT need are item 5 (called the Donut), although mine came out like new.
What you also might need is item 4, the spring seat, which is rather thin, and might tear if the spring is not carefully removed.
All other items are steel, or hard material, and should be re-usable.

I don't think you will need the *10 gaiter, as the Sensen shocks have their hard case cover, different from the OEM shocks.

Well my pre-dawn tinkering revealed to me another casualty of my shuttling teens around this summer. Now, not only is the center bezel trim broken but the seat-belt adjuster is as well. I see these on EB as the complete center pillar trim but of course none in SDZ.

I'm close to just telling the kids to not strap on their seat belts, as I think the citations would be cheaper than replacing trim every few weeks lol. Funny how it never breaks when I have a lady friend riding though.

What really annoys me is that they never say anything about it & leave it for me to discover on my own ?!

That is why I was convinced he had the wrong dampers... The Originals have the gaiters...
