Default How do I get to my battery (killing ECO)

I've got a 2017 Base Coupe. Could someone please tell me how to get to my battery and get rid of the engine start / stop?

I've searched and looked in the manual, but didn't find anything (not to say that it isn't there) about where the battery is and how to get to it. Yeah, it's somewhere back there, and I'd go in and rip stuff out until I found it, but that doesn't always end well ;-)))) so I thought I'd let my rookie stripes show and ask.

Thanks in advance!

The car has 2 batteries from what I understand. I assume you are referring to the big battery? It is located in the trunk on the left side under the panel. Not hard to take off, just be careful when doing so.

As for the Eco mode, make sure the light is not turned on on the button illustrated below.

My motivation is to disable the Eco so I don't have to switch it off every time I start the car. I read a thread saying that you could disable Eco by unplugging a connection to the small battery, which is located by the big battery in some models...

On your MY 2017 there is only one battery, see here for the procedure to permanently disable the stop/start: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...attery-146010/

Well, I found the battery, but ... this is what mine looks like. Where's the ECO plug? And the white canister - should that be connected to the red hose?

1. That white canister is a bottle of tire repair goop that you screw into the tire inflator.
2. If you don't want battery acid fumes corroding your trunk area, you need to hook that hose/red connector back up to the battery.

is there a trick to get the deep tray out? I can lift the tray for maybe an inch but then it snags on something. I've tried lifting it from each of the four sides but have been unable to get it out. My eco mode doesn't work and I'm wondering if the previous owner disconnected the cable from the small battery.

Yes, there is a method.
Lift/tilt the front edge out first, then slide the whole thing towards the front of the car about an inch, then lift it out.
