Our next Jaguar run is planned for Sat 14th October to Sorrento.
We'll meet at a cafe in Mornington (venue tbc) at 10.30am for coffee and/or breakfast, then head off in convoy down the B110 coast road arriving at 12.30pm for lunch at the Sorrento Hotel. We may even stop off en route for a photo opportunity (of the cars, naturally). It's not compulsory to come in a Jaguar if you don't have one, or if yours is in sick bay at the time etc.
Most importantly you'll get to enjoy a relaxing run with great views, great food and very convivial company, what more could you ask? And all set in perfect Jaguar country!
Everyone is welcome to join in. I have provisionally booked lunch for 10 people at present, and at the time of posting this can be increased BUT obviously the closer to the date we get, the harder it will be (if not impossible) to add more seating. The Sorrento Hotel is extremely popular, so if you are keen to come along please let me know asap to avoid disappointment. They usually get booked out around 2 months ahead, so no time to delay.
We have 8 starters so far:
Jagent x 2
Yarpos x 2
MikeyB10 x2
George & Anne (car club friends of Yarpos) x2
Quick update:
We're now up to 12 for the run. The table is currently at capacity for lunch however I'm always happy to try and secure more seating, so if anyone else would like to join in it's imperative you let me know now. The Sorrento Hotel is very accommodating, but it is a popular venue and there will be a limit.
Starters:
Jagent x 2
Yarpos x 2
MikeyB10 x 2
Hawken x 2
George & Anne x 4
We now have 2 extra places available for our lunch booking. Shame to let them go wasted, so if anyone's interested I'll be holding them until I give the hotel final numbers on the 12th.
Thanks to Tony for organising the day and snagging a perfect spring day.
Here are a couple of pics more location oriented, there will be some more coming from other starters.
This is the view from the Sorrento Pub, down to the ferry terminal. Port Phillip Bay (that the bay in the pic not the ocean) is about 100km across. A ferry goes across the mouth of the bay between Sorrento and Queenscliff. This avoids a long (though pleasant if you have time) drive around the bay and through Melbourne to get to the other side.
Sorrento Hotel, with some clapped out vehicles leaking oil in their car park
A great day out once again, and the Gods were certainly shining on us - literally!
MikeyB10 will have the best pics (no pressure Michael!) so just one from me showing a line of pretty snouts..
Fantastic Day was had by all, Thanks, Tony! Ended up being a perfect day with great company.
After negotiating Sofie's camera, I'll add as many angles of our Cats as possible
.
Series 3 Sovereign 1983
61 Mk2 3.8 manual
95 X300 3.2lt Still a couple of years away from club plates
Series 3 Sovereign 1984
And not to be out down here are the other beautiful ladies that accompanied us.

Well done Tony, Mikey, Steve & all the crew and thanks for sharing such great pics . . .
These meet/run/lunch events are just great. Recently, Jim & Nina and myself (all from NSW) ventured north to join a bunch of Qld members for their All British Day in Brisbane. We ended up making a whole weekend of it! What a great turnout, great hospitality, a swag of lovely Jaguars from SS100 & D-Type replicas to XJS Modsports racers, F-Types and everything in between.
This bond of friendships is an extension of JaguarForums that seems not unique, but certainly more prevalent, in Australia. Even the Car Club in little old Inverell, regularly see 60-70 turn up for monthly meetings.
So, congratulations richly deserved all round.
Cheers,
Ken

Spot on Ken. It's always nice to have the Jags present but the cars have become somewhat incidental to the great social aspect and the friendships we've forged thanks to the forum!
