I try to leave them alone as long as they stay OUT OF MY HOUSE!!
Growing up on the farm I do appreciate the purpose, and indeed necessity, of much of Phylum Arthropoda, joint legged creatures; Insects and other creepy crawlies, and I welcome them OUTSIDE.
After all, they're only trying to make a living like the rest of us, BUT NOT IN MY HOUSE!
I've been driving this beautiful British feline V12 for almost a month (and 1000 km) now as a daily driver and I am ready to conclude:
Old cats like to be driven on a regular basis!
She has never missed a beat during my runs and I must say, Jeremy Clarckson was absolutely right when he stated that this is a genuine 140 Mph car. She is so smooth and silky even at those ridiculous speeds on the German Autobahn, that only the fuel consumption and the gas price of €1,56 per liter stops me from going there more often :-)
Every small function that didn't work at first, came back after driving the car on a daily basis. even the blinker indicators in the gauges and the climate control servos and electronics. Only problem that now has arisen is the starter motor magneto (something a few slaps with a steel rod and hammer fixes temporarily). I will pull the starter some time soon and have it overhauled completely. After that, the cat will go to my dry and warm garage for the winter months, as I am not allowed to drive her in the months of december, january and february for "old timer" tax reasons....

the starter bendix needs lubrication, typical Jaguar starter problem. I can also start my S type with a good smack to the starter with a rubber mallet. It's always getting stuck.
Just wanted to throw this picture in here from my other thread: There are (at least) two flasher units you can use on a S3 Jaguar for the turn signal. This is a picture of the factory flasher (made by Hella, and available from parts houses under the URO label still) next to a Novita EP26 electronic flasher. If you feel like taking a chance on changing over to an electronic flasher, the EP26 is a cheap ticket ($8-$12).
how much is the Novita flasher and where do you buy them?
$8 - $12. You can get them online from multiple sources or from AutoZone or O'Reilly's.
If you do order from AutoZone or O'Reilly's, order the EP26 by name. Do *NOT* order "the electronic flasher that fits a Jaguar XJ6," because if you do they're going to sell you either an EL-34 or an EP34, and those do not fit.
