once again, different parts of the world result in different approaches:
the early MB 280 SLs (1969) would regularly be brought into the dealerships in Houston Texas because the uninformed owner drove into a 'puddle' in a low lying portion of the roadways. The water run off from summer rains was so severe that this puddle was probably 10" deep and that depth along with a 40mph entrance in the 'puddle area' was enough to allow the under bumper intake to suck water and hydrolock those 6 cylinder engines...I once owned a 'truck' with a behind bumper intake with filter, the turbo would suck so hard that it would regularly kill sparkplugs because the amount of water being ingested was too much for the high discharge ignition to ignite, the plugs were the first to die.

Lots of questions tonight, sorry about that! But I would really like to know about the "Splitter" ....where can I get one? I'll let the Leaper go, if you will tell me!

Thanks for answering my questions with another shot of the Coupe.....As I said, it's nice looking......but no answers to my questions.....I am really interested in where you got the splitter! If you don't give me some information on it I will have to point-out the Leaper!

This is the XKR I inherited from Dad, may he rest in peace.
It runs flawlessly. I replaced the coolant expansion tank and have not had any problems every since I received the car... I guess the biggest issue are all the legal hoops I have to go through so that it is mine in the eyes of the law.
If you notice the charcoal grey Jeep Renegade in the background is my daily driver. It is actually a fun and frugal little thing that handles surprisingly well. Eventually I'll trade up to a Trailhawk (the lifted off-road trail-rater 4WD model).
Very nice coupe! One thing I noticed, the rubbing on the supercharger, on mine, it was an indication of the motor mounts needed replacement. Since this is not your first XKR, I am sure you are aware of this, just trying to be helpful.

Actually, you were very helpful. My previous X100 was an XK8, I did not know the rubbing was a symptom of worn motor mounts.
Yeah, they are filled with a blue hydraulic fluid, as I remember, had some spots on the garage floor as well. I do not have the records in front of me right now, but remember somewhere in the $300 range to replace. I had it done with some other work, so I do not remember the exact cost, but I am sure there are some threads here in the forum from others who have had the mounts fail. Mine were so bad that at a few times under full throttle, the engine would twist enough to pull off the air intake hose. Good luck with yours!
I’m thinking dad may have replaced them at some point. I had my sister rev the engine while I watched. There seems to be absolutely no movement of the engine at all, no rocking or twisting.
