Default Lip alternatives?

Hey guys,

Is anyone out there using a generic lip or a lip from another car on their x type?

Not that I have ever seen. A couple guys have fabricated their own through the years, but as far as I know, no one has used anything from another car for a front lip spoiler.

I'll hopefully have one installed later this year, I'll update this thread when I get it done.

Honda Civic type r lip adhered to a diy garden edge lip. Some cutting on the lip and lots of cutting to the bumper but I needed that anyways to clear the 285s

Is this the one you have? It looks really similar, this is something I would definitely do if this is the right piece.

Sorry if i'm being pesky, im aware of the garden edging lip idea but not aware of what kind I should be getting exactly. All I know is it needs to be plastic but what sort of sizing and maybe even type. Some insight would be very helpful, thanks!

Molded in didn't really go with the scheme of the build. I like the "battle ready" look like a tank or warship with exposed hardware. We all have our own tastes.

Default X Type Front Bumper Lip

Hi AndrewG! I saw what you did to your X Type's front bumper. It's awesome. Could you please share with me step by step how you did it! I am in South Africa and I couldn't find any seller on Ebay to sell me a front valance. They don't ship to South Africa
