Default Need some parts

Does anyone know if the convertible top cover is supposed to be the same color as the top fabric or the car's interior. I have a 1995 Saphire blue car with blue top. Car recently purchased and the "top down" cover is missing. So I will eventually need one and need to know the proper color for a blue top.
Also I need a full tool set for the Boot/trunk. I have the jack crank handle but the tool/jack kit is missing all of it contents.
Thanks

The cover for when the roof is down is called a top boot in US vernacular, and it should match the interior. Some were leather, most were vinyl. Mine is vinyl. There are some that appear nice on eBay for $300, and they will make them to match your trim code. Maybe pass on the embroidery though, that’s not original. And it’s tacky.

Really, they were leather or vinyl? I thought they would be of a canvas material like what you would make boat tops or covers from(similar to Sunbrella).
EDIT: Just saw one on Ebay made with "Twill fast" cloth material. $399
Just saw another one from a small upholstery place on Ebay. Vinyl, made to order you choice of color based on the 3 letter trim code. $235. Not bad for made to order.

Yup, vinyl.

Check out the ‘95 brochure to see it: Jag-lovers brochures - a USA XJS Brochure for 1995

Hi C&P

My 1995 4.0L Facelift has a Vinyl Boot Top Cover that matches the Cream Leather Interior

While my Pre Facelift XJS V12's have Canvas Boot Top Covers that do not match the Interior

My Red Car and My Grey Car have 'Black' Boot Top Canvas Covers and my Blue Car has a 'Blue' Boot Top Canvas Cover

Unfortunately my 1995 4.0L Face Lift is Covered up for the Winter but from what I can remember the Fixing Clips on the

Face Lift 'Could be different' to the Fixing Clips on the Pre Facelift

So you need to be careful just in case the Canvas one that you saw doesn't fit

IMO. the Canvas ones look better and Black goes with any Color but that is up to you

If it were me, then I would have a Black Canvas one made to order for my 1995 4.0L Facelift, if She hadn't already got a Vinyl Cover

This is what I found on Ebay. Seems very reasonable for a custom made to order. You tell him the trim code and he'll match the color. Vinyl.

The 6 cylinder cars were vinyl in one colour. The V12 cars had seats that were leather with contrasting piping, and the tonneau cover matched that. My seats are ivory leather with cranberry piping, and so is the cover. The 6 cylinder covers were just vinyl, the V12 covers were padded and much thicker and "fuller".

The V12 cars were trimmed to a much higher standard inside, there is no vinyl, everything is leather. That carried over to the cover.

An example:

Hi C&P

From a personal point of view, I much prefer the look and feel of the Canvas boot top cover to the Vinyl one

Though if I needed a replacement I would probably go for Leather to complement that look and Luxury feel

The Vinyl boot top cover would not be the one I would choose over Canvas or Leather but its your Car and so that's up to you

So what I would suggest would be to go into a dealership and then have a look at both types before you decide

Mine is the same material and colour of the roof. Its also padded. Looking at the jaguar classic parts site the convertible and the 2+2 have a different cover. See part 22
