Default Thread Rotation Crankshaft Pulley?

I'm in the process of removing the front timing cover and need to take off the Crankshaft pulley first. Is the directional rotation of the bolt the usual "lefty loosy" configuration? Second question: anything wrong with using an impact wrench for removal of the bolt?

Many thanks in advance!

I use a 3ft breaker bar and a scaffold pole to shift it. If you are using an impact gun then it must be a pretty hefty piece of kit but personally i wouldnt us one incase the impacts cause brinelling on the big ends and journal bearings, just not worth it.

Yes, left to loosen. There isn't enough room to get an impact gun on the bolt, even with the fan pack removed.

Rope inserted through a spark plug hole worked for me.

As for the comment about the radiator being in the way, I took it out. A little more work but makes the whole job that much easier, for that matter I took the bumper off as well! but then it did need painting
