Default evap leak test on uk x400?

I have a 2003 3.0L sport. The electrical library shows that only NAS vehicles have Canister Close Valves and Fuel pressure sensors for evap leak test.

So do I even have a CCV?

Rogelio, you probably do since it would be more expensive for Jag to delete it from the car than to have a few different variations of the car. If you want to look, open the bonnet/hood of the car and look just inboard of the brake booster. You should see the connectors for the O2 sensors and then a vacuum line running to a solenoid valve. That solenoid valve is what you are talking about.

Hi

thats the evap purge valve.

The docs refer to another valve that is connected between the filter canister and the atmospheric vent . It’s called the canister close valve. And I only just found out it’s only found on North America spec vehicles. In addition there is a fuel pressure sensor which is also found on NAS vehicles only. Without those two the evap leak test cannot be done by the ecu. Therefore uk spec x400 does not have automatic evaporative system leak checks.

I’ll do a manual check tomorrow. I don’t even remember feel it working. Even with a stethoscope I don’t hear anything.
