Hi all!
I recently (about a month ago) had a new tranny installed. Last night as I was driving home, the lovely amber warning light came on and "Gearbox Fault" was reading on the message center. This morning I go to start the car and the message and warning light are gone, but the CEL is still on. So I go to AutoZone and have them read the codes and it only spits out codes related to the small evap leak I have been chasing. The codes are:

P0442
P0456
P1111

Can an evap leak cause the "Gearbox Fault" error?

No, and those are engine codes(powertrain) they cant interogate the trans module with a generic scanner only engine

 

my imt o rings are shot, and sometimes my gearbox will come up with that fault in conjunction with the "cruise control unavail" light. They work hand in hand I believe.

 

i read that if you get gearbox fault you need to have the J shifter reset.

my gf is getting this warning in her 02 when its on the highway, feels like reduced power apparently...guessing "limp-home mode"
it has only come up when her older bro drives it, she doesnt really drive highway speeds and i maybe drive it once a month.

has anyone fixed this warning properly?
