today I bought the heated seats of a year 2000 xjr I also took the armrest with a cup holder and the internal bonnet panel, the front seats need care while the rear ones are only to be cleaned. there would also be a sunroof that I do not think you can do a good job like?
I got my car back today after having the motor mounts replaced. I had a slight vibration when I put the car in gear, or put any load on it like having the steering in full lock.
The mechanic said the right (passenger) side was a piece of cake, but the driver side was a bit of a PITA, but easy enough once had the engine high enough to remove it.
Have attached pictures of the mounts, you can plainly see where the top of the passenger side is split across most of the top, and the driver's side completely split and pulled away, Both had leaked fluid. I'm surprised the vibration wasn't worse.
I purchased the motor mounts on line for $54.00 each, and the shop charged me $250.00 labor.
Made an appointment to get the rear wheel bearings replaced Friday. This should be the end to my conquer the rear end noises campaign, key word being should lol.

I have some "howling sound" as well, pretty sure it is the diff. It comes and goes (and my previous car had the same). I am using volume knob to deal with it :-)
KC - what noise(s) are you getting from the rear? At certain speeds above 55mph I am now hearing a howling sound which I hope is not the diff.
I get a consistent small "knock" that varies w/ road surface conditions @ all speeds, truth be told now that I know it's the bearing it's more like a metallic warbling sound. Then I get a distinct howl/moan after about 10 minutes @ highways speeds(45 mph +) when I make turns or sharp curves, that sound's sporadic. All resonate from the rear driver's side.
line from the SC to the bypass valve crumbled, so grabbed some quick relief from the parts store in a cheap package until I can get around to a better solution. Now I'm sitting on a P1646 to take care of. I think the car got jealous that I bought another boat this year and is acting out.

Rear wheel bearings replaced, it cured my "knock" but the howling/moaning on turns is still there. I really wish someone sold a refurbished rear sub-fame. I'd buy one easily, over having to go through the whole set-up piece by piece.

New tires
Differential fluid changed
Replaced bearings
The saga continues.

Replaced the TPS with a 2ndhand unit, still waiting to see if it cures the ‘press the pedal and no go situation until you press some more and then the SC kicks in’ situation, it gets exciting at times
Also wired up a radio temporarily as I am acting as a mid point official car for the Targa Hawkes Bay rally starting 17th May.
And hard wiring in a feed from a socket in the overhead consol to power a dash cam, fairly sure that the socket I am using is the redundant rear view mirror (mine has auto dimming but not the auto wipers which I think this socket is for)
Replaced the trunk latch last weekend. Not quite sure what was wrong with the old one, but first the key wouldn’t turn, then the latch itself wouldn’t stay closed, resulting in a “Luggage Compartment Is Open” error message. (Or wording like that, anyway. I forget the exact verbiage.)
All is well now. The used latch I bought cheap off eBay seems to have fixed both problems.
The only (tiny) problem left is that I somehow lost one of the little black plastic push-pins that attaches the lining to the trunk lid. I even offered my eight-year-old nephew a two-dollar bounty if he could find it, but no soap. Maybe I’ll see if a local junkyard has any. I hate the notion of actually paying for a package of new ones.
After my unusual loss of drive whilst accelerating up the motorway, only to return when I got to a slip road exit (much to my relief).
Battery off and left to charge all day and overnight, then put back on. Now all seems OK and the mystery ASC/TRAC intermittent warnings seem to have gone too, for the moment.
Car's working it's way onto my selling list lol. Already on nerve dealing w/ the rear end moaning. I go to adjust the AC vents to blow towards me, 2 of the 4 broke/cracked rendering the vent slots stuck unless I stick something in to move them. There's no way I'm going to keep going through that ritual & I seriously doubt I can find any more vents in better condition or new @ this stage of the X308's tenure.

I know the feeling, enough little things start creeping up more and more often and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking towards deciding upon a replacement. I won't sell it, only because it's a 200k+ mile car with typical paint nicks here and there, and it's certainly not worth a whole lot on the market up here. But there's a part of me that won't mind hopping into something that won't be draining my wallet at an ever-increasing rate as time goes. I tell myself, just have to get through this one more winter, and then I can put it up and tinker once in a while.

Yes it's like dominoes I started replacing things in the name of preventative maintenance. Then something in that region breaks during the process & so forth go the dominoes lol. I'll fix the rear end moaning but the constant interior breakage may be the straw that breaks the camel's back lol. I like my vehicles to be fully functioning as intended not jerry-rigged etc.

As the ambient temps have dropped from the mid 90°s FH so hath my frustration level lol. Nothing worse then climbing into a baking car to hastily reach for the vent controls & have them break lol.
There's more clues to the rear end noise dilemma, when I cut the Traction Off there is zero noise & it's smooth sailing. Soon as it's activated the moaning/whining returns w/a vengeance ?! Any usual suspects, braking system ?!
