Since I have my dash apart replacing the vent, I'm looking into a persistent rattle I get when the blower's on high. I've found what looks to be a "tag" that lays low until the fan comes on then it's up & fluttering away. What is this ? A tag attached to some part or vent seam , what would happen if I fished a grip on it & pulled to remove ? I'd rather fish it out as opposed to disassembling more brittle plastics.
The plastics in the in-dash shouldn't be brittle, its the ones exposed to the sun that get that way. My 34 yr old Corvette vent plastics are still good, but like yours and my Jag foam, the Vette's foam is toast also.
This is what that wants to be when it grows up, so nip it in the bud...
