Default 2020 F Type R - Space Saver Spare Tire

Hello all,

Purchased a 2020 F Type R about a year ago for the Mrs., and she has had a flat on the front drivers side.

The car did not come with a spare and I am interested in getting a space saver spare. I'm having trouble finding one.

Any recommendations or direct links?

many thanks,

There’s a recent thread about this, with specific part numbers - try searching. Edit: here it is…

The challenge with a spare is that the full-size wheel with the flat tire doesn’t fit in the car - at least, not in the convertible.

As long as people realise these are wholly and solely shop wheels - for rolling a chassis or car around a shop or between buildings etc - and they should NEVER be used on the road!

Of course it fits in the car, but your passenger has to ride in the boot/trunk.

I had similar in a previous XKR - the punctured front just fitted in that trunk with a bit of juggling, but the rear would have definitely needed a seat.

Once out of the boot, I was able to take this photo of DJS.

And then he got back in the trunk.

(That picture was taken when the odometer rolled to 80,000 miles.)

Default P-Zeros Are Run-Flats

I believe this is why they came factory on the F-Type…since there’s no room for a spare. Also, most insurance carriers offer a free tow - check the letter coding on the back of your insurance card.

Thanks, I can tie down the hatch with the flat inside in an emergency...

While there is a run-flat variant of the P-Zero, that’s not what’s fitted to the F-type.

This is correct. No F-Type ever left the factory with Run Flats, at least not in the US.
