People are going to loose their mind over what I told you. Because technically you should use a battery maintainer, but like I said, I didnt have the funds and it worked for me. 2013 jaguar XF AWD
Yes battery is at 12.6 volts exactly actually just came in from trying to mess with it and figure something out so the battery is good but I was looking at rear fuse box in the trunk and it seems like there are things missing or unplugged possibly I see some extra wires as well not plugged in I bought it at auction so maybe they had to replace all the electrical and didn't put it back right possibly and it never ran again so they let it get towed because it looks like a lot of the parts have been changed literally like everywhere I look you can tell it's been removed or replaced so that has to be my problem I am checking all of that compared to the factory stock diagrams

Second question is the BCM/KVM brand new from JLR,
also do you have a image of your trunk

Can you please explain what you mean by this? I also have a no key issue. Hooked up a battery charger and was cranking my car with my battery too low and now my car says smart key not found.
So I'm brand new to the Jaguar world. I'm still green and have much to learn. To clarify a operating SDD system from what I'm understanding is a Diagnostic tool capable of accessing the Jaguar obd2 port or what exactly are you referring too? Is there a way you can post a link to what I would need to get. My budget is limited or else I would take it directly to Jaguar. But I'm mechanically inclined and am trying to learn. So if you can dumb it down a little for me until I get more hands on experience I would be forever thankful
Yes since your new you will need to study this a bit and decide what you want to do. It's "THE" diagnostic tool and is what JLR dealers used back when these cars were new. Never released to the public and was only meant to be used by factory techs. So the software is free (Sort of it's all copied from JLR) and the interface cable is not and that's another bunch of decisions you need to make because there is not just one cable but several different interfaces that can be used.
SDD - Symptom Driven Diagnosis. Uses a laptop and a USB cable that interfaces with the OBD port. Special software (Another set of decisions will be what operating system you want to use and whether you will use a VM or not). It's old software and many are running it on XP! I run Win10 and no VM. I use a cheap dedicated laptop that does nothing but SDD work. Be prepared to install SDD several times before you get one that works for you. Again there is a whole list of things that can go wrong or done differently.
Also requires a stout DC power supply to power the car while it's being used. So do understand what's required to run this. Plus there are multiple versions of SDD. I currently run V167.xxx and it works fine on my 2014 XJR.
It's also awkward and difficult to use mainly because we were not sent to school on it like the JLR tech's were! The level of difficulty will be related to your computer skills. I am old and struggled but got it working with the help of this forum and you can too with a bit of time and effort!
Here is a quick search on SDD. It returned over 400 threads. The mods have requested that we try to put the SDD stuff all together because it is such a big subject.
SDD Threads
It's not easy or quick to set a system up but I have not found anything that can do what SDD can.
So read a bit and do post some questions to those existing threads and decide if you want to spend the time or not.
Finally understand that to JLR SDD is long obsolete and not in use anymore. So expect no help from any dealer.

Again yes but that's all contained in the existing threads I linked. There are no short cuts here. Do some studying and then try what you think will work for you.
Make sure that the laptop does not have anything of great importance on it. You may well be wiping and installing several times. Don't listen to anyone who claims SDD can only be run a certain way. That's just not true and the many variations is another set of decisions you will need to make.
I use a "Mangoose" which is a chinese clone cable of the old Drew Tech. Mongoose cable. This is only one of several devices that can be used. Many, many problems with these but so far mine has worked just fine. But as I posted there are multiple kinds of interface cables.
You can see that every decision leads to other decisions! But if you keep at it you will be able to do it as many of us have. I spent several months building and rebuilding my SDD laptop.
Oh and watch out for British Diagnostics. They offer SDD cables and software. I have never used them but had in the past recommended them. BUT we have had a number of forum members get terrible service from them and I now do NOT recommend them.
