Don't see a picture thread in here so figure it's time to start one.

Here's my newly purchased 84 XJ6 Sovereign to start.

Ben Custodian for the past 23 years. 1975 XJ6C. Bought from CA and had shipped here, then completely rebuilt.

Gregory,

Long story short but I had some rust on the wheel arches attended to before it could get out of hand and the body shop placed them too high when putting them back on. I missed that when I picked her up and the photoshoot pictured had already been scheduled around publication deadlines so there wasn't time to rectify it. That's the photoshoot that was done for the Jaguar World feature on Number 24 (following which I think you also let me know the badge was in the wrong place ).

This car was a '92 VDP - Number 24 of the last 100 made for Canada.

She was a "sister car" to the '92 Oyster coloured Number 3 that you've seen and some of whose details are in post #4 above. I acquired Number 24 in 2006 and Number 3 in 20014 following which they were parked side by side in the garage for the next 8 years until Number 24 met her demise.

Both of the '92's as well as my '01 XJR have a common connection with your Sovereign to Gregory. The other thing the three of them have in common is that all three were purchased "sight unseen" following which my wife and I flew to Victoria, picked them up at the Empress Hotel and drove them some 1,150 km from there to Edmonton.

Ah….well, that explains it. i should point out for readers that the late Series III V12 cars did not have these badges secured by the “peg in hole” system that the earlier cars did, so that explains why the shop was able to mount the badges in the wrong spot. And I will refrain from any comment regarding driving these cars on salted winter roads 🙂

Wooford, where is the build thread for this car? I can't wait to see your progress.
