Hi Folks,

When I shake the wheel while holding at 6:00 and 12:00, there's too much play, between the half shaft and hub.

At first I thought a thicker spacer may be needed, to take up about 20 thou.

But then I thought the spacer really doesn't see wear, maybe it's the bearing.

I do see wear on the ABS ring where the bearing rides, and I do see slight wear on the spacer.

Which part do you thin is more likely to need replacement. I'm thinking if the bearing were new, the spacer would be correct.

Things to check apart of hub bearings, are pivot bearings, differential output shaft and universal joints, i don't think wear you see makes any difference, probably hub bearings are gone and slight slack caused some scratches
Was the hub nut tight when you were taking it apart?

 

Half shaft U joint play can easily felt as bearing slack.
