Default X-Type: Is there an PCV oil-separator?

It's about my 2004, 2.5L, X-Type:
I still have mysterious oil leaks after already replacing all imaginable seals.
I found now information that my "oil separator" might be blocked, causing over-pressure under the cam covers instead of vacuum, and as a consequence causing oil leaks...

I checked the PCV valve - that's OK.

So now the question I am having: Is there really a PCV oil separator on the 2004 2.5L X-Type?
Apparently it can't be seen before removing the air intake (the metal air intake).
I had this off already heaps of times, but I am not aware of ever having seen an oil separator.

Does somebody know - assuming there is one at all - where exactly it is and what it looks like?

petrol-engined Jaguar X-Type models (2.5L and 3.0L V6) feature an oil separator as part of the crankcase ventilation (PCV) system.
Key Details:
  • Function: It captures and condenses oil vapor from the crankcase so it can drain back into the engine, rather than being sucked into the intake and burned.
  • Location: It is located in the middle of the engine "vee," underneath the lower intake manifold and injector rail assembly.
  • Maintenance: The separator itself rarely requires replacement unless cracked, but the associated rubber breather hoses and elbows (frequently called the lower breather elbow) often degrade and crack over time, causing vacuum leaks and rough idling.

Thanks Dell.
I found a picture on the internet, but I do not know, if this is it...

So this would be the view after removing the fuel rail (I don't think I had my fuel rail off before).
Is the black box, which I marked with a red triangle and the word "THIS?" the PCV oil separator?

These engines are Ford/Lincoln 3.0L Duratec and when I google those words with "oil separator" I see parts that look identical to what is in your picture, marked with the red triangle and "This?".

For example here:

Is there an oil leak or an oil burn? Are you able to see the oil leaking anywhere? If not, are you getting any smoke or is there any spot at the end/inside of the tailpipes?

Thanks Baltimore dh53. Good, so that is confirmed now, what and where the PCV oil separator is.

Hi Mike, it's not a burn - no smoke either. It is actually dripping when running. The drip-point is underneath the engine/transmission separation.
As I wrote, I did already everything I could think of, incl. swapping the REAR crankshaft seal (which meant removal of frt. subframe, TC and transmission), plus the usual stuff like new cam cover seals (and mounting them properly with High Temp RTV on the critical points) and swapping the sump-seal. I even checked and resealed the spot, where the "rotating-bar" comes out of the cam, which drives the water pump via a pulley. PCV valve is also fine and no leak there either.

Where exactly the oil comes out is a mystery to me.
But I don't think I ever looked under the fuel rail, where the PCV oil separator is...
