Hey everyone, first post here. Got a 06 X-Type sport with a slew of different things going on but my main problem is a no crank no start. Started noticing my starter slightly take longer to boot the car up but it would have its good and bad days. Come 2 days ago I pulled up to the station to fill up and I go to crank it back up and nothing. Had to push her home. Replaced the starter, same thing. Charged the first battery and same thing, then finally bit the bullet and got a new battery and STILL WONT CRANK. Got a multi meter have have been trying to test vol to different places, fuses, connections etc and can’t really tell what I’m looking at. Please send your advice and concerns!

 

When you put the key in the ignition and turn it what is happening with the red light next to the shifter? That should indicate whether or not the car security system has accepted your key. If that light is blinking the security system is preventing the engine from cranking.

 

When ignition is turned on, red light glows for a couple seconds then is turned off. I also tried both keys and got the same thing. If mine was stick I would’ve tried to pop start it but sadly it’s auto🫩
