Winnie driving her Jag (62 Etype) for the first time...
There is wind noise and some silly commentary, (and you get a quick look at me) but it is as she's driving it for the first time after the rebuild was completed.

we were out again, but the video is short cause I was out of memory...we're going for another ride Saturday (need to put 500 miles on the engine).

she really does turn heads...it's like being on parade. A bit unnerving, really. The car was purchased by my father in law in 1971 for 2500...it was in pieces in his garage and we talked to him about it and I oversaw the reconstruction. The engine wasn't done correctly at all and had been rebuilt already. It ran but it had problems... when he passed away in 2009, he left to us. We didn't do anything with it for a year, then last year we balanced and just short of blueprinted the engine this year among a few other issues. We do have a bit of cash into it, but each dollar spent creates value. I would be glad to talk about the specifics should we be in the same room, but not really on an open forum.

Lollyz Jag,
Thanks for the history. What a great gift and what a great tribute!! I truly understand the 'open forum' concerns. Can not wait to see the next installment in that beautiful machine.
Enjoy.....

New oil and filter at 500 miles. Nothing like shaking a fresh E down. The 3.8 is my personal favourite of the XK engines. The 4.2's had the real problems, cracking between the cylinder liners.
Restoring a 3.8 coupe and a 4.2 roadster atm, all good fun. Let's see the engine.
Looks like Lolly's got the hang of that horrid old gearbox! I change them out for modern 5 speeds, big improvement.
