Dual electric fans
I am looking to buy a dual electric fan conversion for my '90 V12. I'd like a nice one that pretty much drops in without much trouble. I've seen a few priced around the $500 (US) range. Before I pull the trigger can anyone advise me on their experience with them and is one better than the other? Any recommendations where to buy one from?
I have thermo fans on all my V12's, and have so since about 1995ish.
I use the Australian Ford Falcon twin thermo fan pack.
They basically slide straight in, after 2 side lugs are removed with a hacksaw.
I wire the LH fan to the a/c circuit, and the RH is thermo controlled using the existing thermo switch in the water pump inlet spout.
A friend fitted the same fans to his 1990 in Manila. He had them shipped via the seller on ?bay. No concerns when I last spoke with him.
Your market has items we dont know anything about, so people in your area will be better informed than me down here.
Basically any late model car has a very efficient thermo fan setup, and the fitting is where the imagination kicks in.
You wanted straight forward, well that is not always possible, but as I said, I use the Falcon fans with great success, and I consider them EASY to fit.
Here is a snap found via "google" and I hope it works.

The CatCooler Jaguar XJS V12 Very High Flow Twin Electric Cooling Fans System from V12 Performance
The "....pretty much drops in without trouble" is what you're paying for, mostly. That is, someone has already done all the experimenting and fabricating for a good fit.
Before buying from any vendor ask if they actually have product in stock and ready to ship. There is at least one, maybe a couple, who apparently wait several weeks till they have xxx-number of paid orders and then have the parts made up, assembled, and shipped

I dunno. I think he operates under a couple business names.
Thus my warning about checking first

"Brian Welker" is the guy you're thinking of, I'll bet, who has a bad reputation....although, personally, I've had no problems the few times I did business with him

I bought my "growler" intake/air cleaners from him. Based on his "rep" I simply called first, inquired as to stock and purchased over the phone, I had zero issues and received my intakes in about 4 days time. Also bought get the uprated banjo bolt the same way, again, no issues.
With a bit more fiddling you could install a fox body radiator and fans for the price of those custom XJS fans and the cooling potential would blow the stock radiator setup out of the water.
Thats an interesting concept. Have you tried this conversion? Would you mind elaborating more on it? Thanks in advance
Would one of my Aussie friends be willing to send me the size of the Falcon fan setup? I found nice 3100 cfm fans from Summit for half the cost, there are a few sizes to choose from. It would be nice to know what works best.
funny, I had zero issues with him AND its against forum policy to blast vendors here (not a mod just friendly advice) I have no stake with the vendor just had no problems, unsure why people have trouble picking up a phone and ordering the old fashioned way. If the website looks dated I always call to order, saves a lot of grief.

It is a bit dated as I stopped looking when I found the Falcon fans slid straight in.
