Default "Jaguar" cam cover sticker

Heh guys.

Just curious. Did all models of XJS have the Jaguar cam cover sticker installed, and on both sides?

Mine is missing however I think that maybe it just came off over the years.

I was thinking of getting a set (plenty available) however just wanted to see if it was "period correct"

Bro

You may as well get the 6 litre ones, if you've that much money to burn!

They seem to be horrendously expensive!

its the same decal as used on the ' tool box ' as well

and yes, all V12 cars had a decal on each rocker cover ( Daimlers had their own version )

your mixed up

the ones shown above ( and the ones with the part number ) are for the cam covers and they are foil stickers ( under the supply fuel regulator )

the ones that are ' red ' like on my car are for the intake manifold and are as you say around £60 UK or more , but funnily enough are cheaper than the standard black ones fitted to the later 6ltr cars

Both can be seen in this picture

How much are the 'Black Ones' Bro?

Would I have enough left over for a can of Red Spray Paint?

I just received my intake manifold plates and cam cover stickers from Jaguar Heritage. The manifold plates come with some adhesive on the back you peel off but I am assuming that is because the intake manifolds they are supposed to sit on have a groove.

Mine are the old school type with the fins. Would you guys use RTV as well to stick them on top of those fins or would the adhesive suffice you think?

Can't wait to glam up my engine

they will stick like **** to a blanket as they are

no need for anything except some panel wipe or such like to clean the intake groves to ensure good contact first time
