Default 1989 XJS V12 anti lock brake assembly

Hi Folks,

I broke off the 90 elbow an I have been unsuccessful at finding the ABS Brake assembly with the accumulator for my 1989 XJS V12. Sees my vin number is during the first half of the year when they switched the assembly out.
VIN SAJNV4848KC154464

Looking to purchase the whole assembly, have looked everywhere to no avail. Mine has a place for Dot 4 brake fluid right below the accumulator. Seems not all have this area. Any advise on where to locate one?

David

Hi David

I'm guessing you mean the 90 plastic elbow that goes into the Pump on the Low Pressure side.

Is that all that's wrong with it? it should be fairly easy to get one of those from a Scrap Yard, one from a different model of Jag might fit e.g. XJ6

The pump and accumulator module fits several years (88-96), XJS and XJ6, I found a unit out of a mid '90's xj6 to put in out '89 convertible. Is this the elbow you are talking about:

Elbow for fluid going into pump and retaining pin.

Remember that the brake system on XJSs from October 1994 onwards is completely different! XJ40 XJ6 uses the same system but not X300 XJ6. Also the ABS valve block on an XJ40 XJ6 is very slightly different but will fit.
