Default LED conversion - 1990 XJ6 - signals not working

Signals aint working now its LED all around, can get everything else to work fine.

Im a GM guy and an LED flasher seems to do the trick on the older GM stuff, will it work on Jags too????

RoseecityTinting, just to ask the silly question, do you have the polarity of the bulbs correct? if you put the bulbs in backwards (yes, there is a right and wrong way), they will not work. An LED is a polarity sensitive device. You have the polarity backwards and it will not work. Lets see what you have after that check, then we can go from there.

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to XJ40 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

i suspect not, as your lights go through a module that sense if the lamps are blown and give a dash warning if they are,

LED are known to give issues as the test circuit doesn't see the lamp because of the LED design

Brake Buster is correct. The Bulb Failure Modules (BFMs) look for the resistance of a typical incandescent bulb filament. To a BFM, the very high internal resistance of an LED looks like an open filament, which triggers the Bulb Out warning lamp on the instrument cluster.

I haven't tried it on an XJ40, but you may be able to add resistors across your LED bulbs to fool the BFMs.

Cheers,

Don
