Hi all, I have a 2002 X type 3.0 v6 which has the jaguar sat nav touch screen with climate control, I am looking to change this for a car play head unit something like the alpine Ilx-700, I have been told by my local dealer that I can't change the head unit as I will lose the facility to control the climate controls also my alarm will need to be reset? is this true? Surely there must be a way of changing this? I'm not too worried about losing the sat nav in boot as the new head unit has sat nav facility, my only concern is losing the climate controls and ability to use the buttons on the fascia, any ideas gratefully accepted, I'm sure someone has managed to work around this.

I am sure it has been done before, but like you I do not know how much functionality you will lose. Your best bet is to repost this in the X-Type section where there is a huge wealth of knowledge specific to the X-Type and issues such as this.. have a look here, and maybe repost your query..
