Default In Control App

I purchased a 2017 XF Sport in the UK last week and have exported it to Ireland. So far I'm really happy with it although I would have preferred a little more poke from the engine and would have gone for the 3.0 litre instead of the 2.0 if the VRT wasn't so high. Hoping for some help with a couple of questions.

I tired to setup in the InControl app using the last few digits of the VIN, however it looks like the previous owner never deregistered the car from his account. Is there anyway of doing this without having to take it to the local dealer? I'm hoping Jaguar Ireland could so this remotely?

Does anyone know if the InControl app will allow remote starting in the winter to heat the car?

I've never been one for mapping engines in the past but am considering it with this purchase. From my limited research Bluefin (sp) seem to be recommended the most. Has anyone any comments or recommendations around this?

Lastly got the below quotes for service the other day. Compared to previous BMW prices they're quite saucy. Warranty expires in 10 months so I may consider a good independent mechanic given those prices...

Cost of Minor service is 315.00 – includes replacing oil, oil filter and pollen filter

Cost of Full service is 485.00 – includes replacing oil, oil filter pollen filter and air filter and fuel filter

I think it should be possible to register incontrol to you as the new owner.

The features available seem to depend on model and in cases an incontrol subscription.

Remote starting us available on my F type via incontrol remote app.

See attached document

Servicing cost at authorised Jaguar dealers are, like many main dealers expensive, they are also not necessary.

If a warranty repair is needed then these have to be at an authorised dealer, but as it's warranty it's free.

Service can be at independent dealers provided appropriate parts and procedures followed, in short going to an independent dealer won't invalidate your warranty and if you find an independent who specialises in Jaguar you will likely get the same standard of service often by Jaguar trained technicians at a more competitive price.

Hi,
Did you get the Incontrol sorted?
I imported a 2016 xf 2 weeks ago, and they've told me Incontrol is not available in southern Ireland? I contacted Jaguar Ireland, and they said it is!

I imported mine. I had to get in touch with Jaguar Ireland who put me in touch with local dealer. They were able to transfer and set up the incontrol apps etc registered to me .

Looks like you are making progress with the InControl app. Good luck.

Jaguar Dealer service costs you mentioned are a lot higher than mainland UK where we benefit from fixed price servicing. The Interim service for your XF would be 255 UKP and the Major service 285 UKP at my local Stratstone Jaguar.

Was the export/import process straightforward. We've had discussions in other region forums about exporting Jaguars from USA to Europe and vice versa and it can be quite a problem. Importing a UK Jaguar to Australia is a nightmare of bureaucracy. Recently, Japanese Jaguars are being exported to UK and they present compatability issues with navigation and entertainment systems.

As we are still in the EU then Type Approval shouldn't have been a consideration with your import but I recall annual vehicle tax in Eire is eye watering. Was there also import tax and testing involved?
