I'm from Renfrewshire where I have easy access to great driving. The Greenock end of the M8 has some very long straights where it is usually quiet enough to safely stretch the Jaguar's legs. Then the Erskine Bridge gives easy access to the A82/A83 and off into Argyll for some fantastic country drives.

The drive to Inverary over the 'Rest and Be Thankful' and the straights along the 'Carse of Stirling' are my favourites.

Jeremy Clarkson got it right when he test drove an XJ by heading to Scotland to see how far he got before he got bored with driving and he ended up at John O'Groats. We are very lucky.

Hi,

I just joined yesterday - I'm in Northampton. I'm also on the .co.uk site, under the same username.

I can't believe I've been registered for a year and have only just seen this thread. Then again, I tend to hit the New Posts button, which is how I came by this thread now!

Another refugee from sunny Derbyshire in England !
