Default Initial problems with X-Type 2.2Di SE

Hi.
Just purchased a 2006 X-Type 2.2di SE and having a few problems and wondered if anyone had suffered anything similar.
Started from cold the other morning and the engine started up backwards. Tried agin and it was ok. Took it to main dealer said it needed a computer software upgrade, which they did and all seemed ok. Noticed then that I didn't have any cruise control. No fault codes or anything, just didn't work. Took it back to dealer again, they said it was a switch fault, which they replaced but still no cruise control.
They checked and "re-flashed" the computer again but car still has no idea it even has a cruise control and it must have happened when they upgraded the software.
They now say they have downloaded the software from my car and are having to send it to Jaguar for work??
They will get it back in three days and then "re-flash" the car with the upgraded software.
All sounds a bit strange to me.

Bill,

I agree it sounds odd the dealer can't apply a flash upgrade.

Is this chargeable or is the dealer taking care of it all f.o.c.?

Graham
