Welcome to the forum Trevor,

Not surprisingly, wooden steering wheels and gear knobs are a popular modification and the prices of used items reflect this.

I found several listed on ebay UK and you could also try the specialist Jaguar breakers. Eurojag are one of the largest:

Hi Trevor, Welcome to JaguarForums.com! It is great to have you onboard and you have done well with your choice of Jaguar - and it is very close to the mileage on my 1998 XJ8 Sport so I know you have done well finding your one :-)

Please note it is well worth you popping a post into the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum section on here to introduce yourself to everyone if you have not already done so.

Hello Trevor,
crikey don't XJ8's come with a wooden steering wheel?
My XJ6-Sport 1997 does not have cruse or traction but does have the wooden steering wheel but you're not having it ;-)

My curent XJ8 Sport late 1998 came with black leather steering wheel, but if I remember correctly my previous XJ8 an early 1998 came with a wooden steering wheel - so it might be worth following that possibility...

The half wood/half leather was an option on the X308, If I remember, a quite expensive option at £380.00 +vat in 1998.

LOL, if I had known I would have whipped it off before she was scrapped :-( But saying that, I personally find the full leather wheel feels more substantial..
