Default MOT Advisory on my xk8

Hello, my xk8 failed its mot this year due to corrosion to the rear ends of the sills so is now up on axle stands to carry out repairs but question is down to an advisory on the mot that I,m not sure about, This is what the advisory says- Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement ( rear diff mounting beam to body ) Does any one know what bush or pin I need to be looking at to sort out this advisory.
Les.

It may refer to the large bush that secures the suspension subframe to the body.

Have you contacted the garage that performed the MoT for a further explanation?

Hi thanks for the reply the mot was done back in April this year so I doubt it if they will remember but yes I agree it is worth a try .Mind you I have to admit I dont fancy dropping the subframe down if you are correct.

Les,

I sometimes think with advisories it's just because the tester feels the urge to say something. In the days before MoT records went online and testers couldn't view previous test records, it was interesting to see how often a past advisory would never be mentioned again.

The 'A' Frame bushes are a regular wear item on both XJ and XK8 which share a similar rear suspension design but, like you, I'd be far more concerned with rectifying the corrosion in the sills.

Hi Graham, just spoke to the garage, you were right it is those bushes, not too expensive to buy £37.00 each for genuine items.
I agree with you about the advisories also think they have to just put them on the mot just to annoy the owner, get this, as with most cars they have advised on corroded rear coil springs, The car is on stands with both back wheels off. Both coil springs are still in the original black with the orange brush stripe mark down them with no corrosion at all. Trust me they wont be putting an advisory for them next year.
Good to here from you and thanks for your advise.
Les.
