Called in to see Craig of Alloy Wheel repair Scotland today, they're based in Crieff.

I was visiting as it turns out I have flat spotted / buckled wheels, causing steering wheel vibration / vibration when braking etc, really annoying
Spent a few hours with Craig and he straightened ( or should I say rounded my wheels! )
Looks like 2 or 3 of them had a few flat spots, nothing too major in themselves but all added up on 20" wheels, a real PITA and takes away from the car.
One of them had been weld repaired and was pretty bad as it turns out, he couldn't rectify it 100% because of this, but certainly made it much, much better.

Wheels back on the car and out for a test drive, sooooo much better now, maybe not 100% but much improved and for not a lot of money either, a job well done IMO

Craig / Rachel - 07585 445779

They do a lot of flat spot / buckle repairs, but also do refurbishment as regards paint repairs etc, certainly worth checking out if you have any issues.

just thought i'd put a recommendation for Horner and Hudsons Ltd Macclesfield,
i live in manchester and didnt know of any jag specialists in my area after searching on the internet i found loads of great reviews for H&H on another jag forum similar to this . So i took my X type there Mike was fantastic my husband has bought an XF now so we only deal with Mike, we cant say enough good things about him . Im very tempted to get an XK as mike is the technical advisor for the XKCC I found out on my last visit speaking to one of his other customers. just thought i'd put in the good word as he's been so helpful with us

Welcome to the forum D Jones,

Useful recommendation. There does seem to be a gap of expertise in the centre of England.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Hi D Jones - if you could supply a phone number etc I will be more than happy to add Horner & Hudsons into the list, and as Graham says fill in a bit of a current geographical hole for Jaguar support..

OK, so Clive & Julia at Nene Jag Specialist had my car today for a post-purchase check/service - a very good experience for me, and I will be using them again. Service was carried out as requested - lots of additional information and advice provided when I picked the car up, and they had managed to sort a couple of apparent electrical gremlins along the way.

The only bad news was that my original 2002 exhaust has finally corroded right through... so I'm now looking at nice stainless steel options. I will scour the forums for recommendations!

So please add my recommendation for Nene Jags:

Guy,

Good to hear Nene Jag Specialists worked out well.

Jaguar OE exhausts - I'd love to know where Jaguar find stainless steel that rusts!

Hi all, Just back from having my X Type cayman alloy wheels done at 'The Wheel Specialist' in Cumbernauld (Glasgow north branch) FANTASTIC and GREAT in a word or two. You can drop it off in the morning and pick it up that night if all goes well. Good price too, £240 to take off, blast, powdercoat, balance and refit... Right, I'm off to go wax my 'like new' wheels!. James is who I dealt with and he was superb.

Below you will find the current list of recommended suppliers, as recommended by you! Entries are listed by location (alphabetically) I guess if we get enough I can start to list them by county if you find that better to work from. Each entry has the alias of who recommended it and when - it may be worth contacting them to see if they still recommend the supplier, before going with the supplier. Obviously the newer a recommendation, the more current it is and likely to be accurate! If there is a demand for it I can likely list phone numbers or web addresses against entries..

Default UK Receommended Repairer and/or Servicing

Hello,

New member here, I have bought a diesel 2.0 x type (first time owner) and I was hoping someone could suggest a reliable garage in and around Manchester or Huddersfield/Halifax region. I noted one in Doncaster, but ideally a more local place would be great.

There's a place called "Stephen Heywood Jaguar" near me, but I always like to hear customer experience. before deciding. I'd welcome any suggestions or advice. I'm not sure if this is relevant but I have Warranty Wise cover too.

Thanks in advance
M

SOUTH WEST ENGLAND SWINDON SERVICE AND REPAIR

After many disappointing Experiences with area main dealers. At last I have found a reliable and inexpensive service and repair centre, with fully trained, experienced technician and fully equipped workshop. Who I can recommend as a first class service.

WILTSHIRE JAGUAR CENTRE
Station Industrial Estate.
Sheppard Street,
Swindon,
SN1 5DE

Tel 01793 612870
enquiries@wiltshirejaguar.co.uk

The labour rate is extremely reasonable and the personal service excellent you get to talk to technician themselves and they will source spares and keep you updated.

Can any one recommend a good jaguar garage in the Stockport area? I have tried a few close to Cheadle recently for little jobs and I have been less than impressed.

Not exactly sure if this is the correct place to post, so if it isn't and someone has a suggestion on where to better direct my question then please let me know. I have been considering buying an XJL for several months and this forum has helped a great deal in informing me on my decision. For that I am grateful and I just bought a 2014 today. The front bumper has been repainted (I was aware of this) by a painter that was apparently color blind. Since I'm going to repaint the bumper anyways I began looking for a "R" type bumper to upgrade the look. I found one that iappears to be good deal in Warwickshire and would need to be be shipped to me in the U.S., Arizona. The person selling it is willing to put on a pallet and protect/prepare the bumper for shipping but doesn't have any experience in international shipping and has asked me to take care of it. If it's going from Arizona to him it would be easy. However I have zero clue on who to contact or how to even begin to get it here. Does anyone have any advice or contacts that could help with the transport. I would need the shipper to pick it up in Warwickshire and ship to Arizona in hopefully a timely fashion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Z20,

To get any UK shipping agents to quote will require the Post Code for the vendor together with the dimensions and weight of the packaged bumper.

I have all of the information required and the bumper is boxed on a pallet ready to ship (at least that what I'm told). I just need the name or contact info of a shipping company that is essentially full service for international shipping. I purchased another front and rear bumper from London a few months ago and paid 250 Pounds. That shipped the package to the local airport and then I had to pick up there. Unfortunately I have zero idea what company was used for the shipping.

Try this shipping agent:

Cheap Parcel Delivery to USA | Courier Service to USA

It's 00.55 on Monday morning here in the UK as I write this. 7 hours until their office opens.
