I just bought a Paris wheel from sbwheels, 280 quid, great service and comm's. Imagine my glee when I opened it today and it had a tyre on it too ! The xkr I bought had 3 front wheels on, so now I can sell one as well. They also make new outer rings for BBS.

Good to hear things haven't changed. Steve Gray (SB Wheels) was very helpful when I had a problem with Sepang split rim alloys a few years ago.

Do any owners do their own servicing? If so can you point me at a service kit supplier?
My other make dealers supply kits with every thing needed for a basic service at a forum discount, looking for same on xk8.

That's a YES from me to DIY servicing and many others will do the same.

There's a lot of check and inspect in the Service Schedules (you do have a copy of these?) so the parts list is small and few items have to be sourced from a Jaguar Dealer.

You could lower this cost by sourcing spark plugs from an alternative specialist supplier.

I usually get parts from my local Jaguar Dealer as I've been going there for over forty years and get trade discount. The only items I never buy there are brake disks and brake pads. Jaguar are totally unrealistic in their mark up on what is simply a bought in item.

Ben Thomson, son of the original owner Jon, was a wealth of information for my 1996 3.2 X300 and supplied several parts, including second hand air con condenser and rear bumper bracket at extremely reasonable cost. They have most second hand parts stripped and on the shelf but also have a yard of vehicles for more difficult items.
They will even overnight parts to anywhere in Europe (handy for my upcoming Crumball Rally) which they have done for customers in the past apparently.

I have just ordered a front pair of Bilstein shocks for my S type after buying a rear set of Bilstein shocks from them last year. Their prices are very good and the customer services I find to be both helpful and knowledgeable of the Jaguar brand. I am very pleased with my experiences with this company. They've managed to keep my costs low over the last 13yrs, by way of an example they quoted me £500 to replace the coolant return hose (jag price for the complicated hose assembly was £265+VAT) Plus 2 x hours labour at £60+VAT ph

When I turned up to collect my car I was presented with a bill for just £131 inc VAT. They said they'd managed to fabricate the piece themselves and it had taken the full 2 hours...plus if booked in advance you can get one of their courtesy cars...they have 3 x S-Types.

They are the only reason I am sticking with the marque, as although I'll be getting my X150 serviced at the main dealer (it has FJSH) anything else like the water pump i'll get done by Swallows.

Swallows at Rooksbridge, Somerset excellent service from start to finish, ended up with a 644bhp beast, big thankyou to Chris and the boys.

 

Does anyone have a recommendation for North West England? There are a few around Lancashire and Manchester but reviews are sketchy - was hoping to find one on the list but nothing there.

 

I would strongly recommend Chiltern Jaguars at Stokenchurch, High Wycombe, They supplied my 2008 XK Convertible in the middle of a lockdown and made everything as safe as possible, delivered the car to Poole, returned in my trade-in Landy, and were most fair with honouring their warranty because I had been able to use the car so little. Well done chaps.
