X351 Should I get my XJ's gearbox serviced
Hi All,
New to owning an XJ(X351) and all seems well, but as it has covered 75k miles and is just 10 years old I was wondering whether or not to get the automatic gearbox serviced. I have read that these are good quality traditional torque converter gearboxes that are sealed for life by the manufacturer and should be good for at least 200k miles, but I wonder.
Anyway, what is the general consensus on servicing these gearboxes?
Regards

The evidence from the many hundreds of times this question has been asked and answered in our various model forums is that a fluid and filter change at around 60 to 70k miles will extend the life of the unit.

Viraf,
It depends if it's a coupe or a Convertible. If it's a Coupe, it's by the B/C post. If it's a Convertible, it's in the boot on the left hand side.
Can you describe what symptoms you are experiencing now? And also, what is the battery voltage, measured at the battery prior to starting? And what is the battery voltage when the car is running?
Cheers
