Omaha

Greetings from Washington County
Just checking in from Washington County. I like between Bennington and Blair, but still consider Omaha "home". Finally got the Jag out of the garage the last few weeks, but will be parking it for a few days with the rainy weather moving in.
I don't see a lot of Jags on the road in Omaha, but make it a point to wave at those I do encounter. I drive a red XK8 with a tan convertible. Plates read "QUIK CAT". Honk or wave if you see me on the road!

Fairbury
Live in Fairbury, (FairWhere?) LOL. just bought my 84 XJS, and from what I see, I am the only one in town with a Jaguar. Bought it from a guy in Beatrice, and think it was the only one there also. Who knows, when I get the urge to make one of my road trips we may pass one another, only I like taking the older routes most of the time. Got love them back roads with a Jag.

went for a drive this past weekend to Hebron, took my sister for a ride in the Jag, washed the car at the carwash there. (Do have one here in town, just felt like a drive LOL) Had to stop by the park for her to see and sit in "The Swing", then down the highway towrd Bellvue, onto highway 8 and back to Fairbury. That was my first so called long run.

I'm back in! I sold my 2002 XK8 last summer to a guy in Lincoln, NE, and just got back a few weeks ago from West Palm Beach, where I picked up a nice clean 2008 XK convertible (black on black, caramel interior). She's loaded, and a blast to drive. In fact, I think I'll grab she-who-must-be-obeyed, drop the top (the car's, not hers), and go for a spin tonight.

I wanted to add a couple of events as a possible get together for everyone in the area:
Saturday, June 27th
All-European Car Show
Caddy's Riverside Grille 2 Harrah's Blvd., Council Bluffs, IA 51501.
The only details I saved from the website are shown below:
REGISTRATION STARTS AT 9:00 AM
SHOW AT 11:00AM
NO REGISTRATION FEE
Sunday, September 13
Noon - 3 p.m.
All European Show & Shine
https://www.lauritzengardens.org/Vis...how_and_Shine/
I went to the one down at Lauritsen Gardens a few years ago, and there were some wonderful old cars there, including some vintage Jags. Hope to see a few of you chaps at one or more of these events.

Completing second (ground up) restoration on black '64 E ots. Just sold my beloved '05 S Type R and am actively searching for a nicely equipped recent XF. E type enthusiast since I purchased my E type back in '81 for $2,685.00!! not a bad deal by today's standard's.
Also a Lotus enthusiast. Have owned three Lotus Europa's including a very early rare '67 (the same exact car I first spied in '67 cruising about Lawrence, KS and started my Europa lust), a later '71, and a fully restored/uprated '74 Twincam Special which now resides in Japan.
