Been driving around as much as weather allows all over Fort Lauderdale and have only seen 2 Xk8.

Any one in the local Fort Lauderdale area with an XK8??

 

I'm a bit north of you in Palm Beach county. See lots of XK8s here, usually several each day...but was just thinking the other day that I rarely see any of the new gen XKs

 

I'm in Hollywood but the car has been in the shop for the last 5 week.

 

If you want to see any XK8s go to dealer service department lol.

JK, why has it been 5 weeks? Is it at Alpine?

 

Sorry....just saw this post was 2 months old.....I hope it still isn't in the shop......

 

Car has been out of the shop and running great for a while now. I had throttle body issues followed by problems with the first replacement throttle body. I am on throttle body number 3 and everything is running fantastically.

 

I have an appointment next week to take mine in for a new throttle body ,is there anything I should ask them to check?

I have a friend in Fort Lauderdale who used to have an XKE.

Sorry for the delay. The one that was in the car went bad. It was replaced with another throttle body that was bad. The car didn't even make it home from the shop. Then throttle body #3 was put in and everything has been good. The car runs like a champ. When everything is working right it is the best driving vehicle I have ever owned.

 

FJT. I plan on going to Alpine for my last warranty check up, warranty up next month. From the comment you made should I go to some other dealer? I have a 06 XK8. I'm in Fort Lauderdale.

Sorry Rich, FJT hasn't logged on since November 2009, he's been pretty busy I believe. I wouldn't wait for a reply from him, but I hope someone helps you and can answer your question regarding an alternate dealer.

I had a not so great experience at Alpine and haven't gone back. Not sure where to go dealerwise but I've heard good things about a place in Boca called The Jaguar Doctor.

I'm in FTM also. Hunt Automotive has a great reputation in town. They are on Andrea Ln. I will use them if I need something done that is over my head, but been lucky so far, 12months and 6K miles of ownership and nothing real bad yet. Good luck.

 

I am In Fort Lauderdale , and have a 1999 XK8 conv. I am out by the sawgrass mall. car is metalic blue.. all stock .

I have heard that jaguar doctor is good.. but pricey..

Every Friday night at 595 and University Blvd (West Fort Lauderdale) ... in the Home Depot and costco parking lot.. there is a classic car get together, Kind of like Old town in Orlando.. If your in the south east Florida Area stop by .I am going there this evening to represent our Jaguar xk8's

I have an XKR and would love to help organize the troops between palm beach and browsed counties. How about a general (vs just XK) meet once every two months!
